    Default Downloading from torrent

    Hi,

I recently for Tata WiMax. The browsing speed is extremely good as is the downloading speed from http and ftp. However, when i try downloading from torrents, the speed is patheticly slow. There are no "remote" connections happening. On googling, i found that we need to open certain ports on the router (port forwarding). Does anyone has an idea for doing that? I have a static IP address.

    Thanks.

Try this (Torrents not working on sify broadband) first and see if this works.

Could you explain how did you set a static ip for your comp? I use Tata Indicom Wimax and the tata guys have put me on dhcp. It doesn't allow incoming connections for my uTorrent, so the download speed is severely limited. And i can't find any options in the Wimax web config page either.

    Any suggestions?

What is your tata wimax connection speed? They only provide static ip's for 384kbps and above.

Its 256 kbps, according to their website every postpaid connection gets a free static ip. Even then, can I configure port forwarding with dhcp?
