    Default MT841 and Tata Wimax

    Hi Guys,
Got my connection today the speeds have been varying dowload between 800 kbps - 512 kbps, the upload speeds has been just between 50-60 kbps.I had one DSL router MT841 provided by BSNL . Wanted to know if anyone has been able to configure this router to act as a WIFI access point using TATA Wimax.

Tata Wimax also gives a static IP which work without authentication, asked for that , with static IP i should be able to configure this ADSL router , lets see its just theory so far.

The other easy option is to buy a netgear wifi router and plug it in but that's Plan B.

Will update how things are working with my present Huwawei MT841 router.

Ask the helpdesk guys to setup your connection without login page . They will do needful for you . One thing you have to learn is to have Tons of Energy and Patientence to deal with these folks.

Happy Wimaxing!!! , what kind of speeds do you get on a typical day i get between 700-800 for downloads and 50-60 or less for Uploads , I have asked to rectify this too.But looks like they have this excuse of uload speeds are 1/4 of the download speeds , lets see what i can do with it.

Ok i was able to configure my existing MT841 ADSL router to connect using Tata Wimax. The trick is after you get your static ip and natting done from Tata Wimax folks , assign a different ip address range to the router something like 10.0.0.1 for adminstration purposes, Since the TATA guys give 192.168.1.1 as the gateway after natting , you cannot assign the same to your Router.

it works saved few bucks by not going for one more wifi access device!!
