I am unable to connect from last 2 days now yesterday called tata for 5 times and there is no one to take my sup call and no one to call me back for this stupid connectivity issue..
when i try to connect it say's username/ password incorrect already tried to change password still no joy. One tata assoicate said that my account is inactive but i really don't know why
will call them today to confirm same

I get this problem aswell ... dont change your user name and pass just keep trying and it will connect fater 10-15 tries.
This normally occurs when I try to login using Ubuntu and after 10-15 tries it connects and works ok but then when I again switch to windows I again have to keep trying to 10-15 times.

Dont change password.

This is a problem at their end not our. Try logging out in one operating sys before you use the other one.

OK After hundreds of calls and wasting lots of my time which I could have used to do something productive I have managed to get the stinking tata wimax customer care to compensate my fully for the days lost due to down time.

Initially they even refused to extend my validity by the number of days which were lost... I had to send a lot of e-mails... even supervisors kept on refusing said it was my fault that the connection was down.

Ratan tata is getting paid in his own currency at Singur is all I can say.


These corporates need to be taught a lengthy lesson so they stop sucking our blood.

My connection is working fine now but to be honest I WOULD NEVER RECOMEND ANYONE TO GET A TATA WIMAX CONNECTION.

I have never had to call sify so many times... Sify customer care has always been prompt in providing the compensation if connection goes down.

What goes around comes around ..... Tata name will be wiped off the face of this earth in time to come if they dont mend their ways.. I feel like throwing up when I hear this name TATA... Such was the hard time they gave me... talking to their customer care is like hitting a brick wall.

Out of an Airtel connection and Tata wimax connection which would you say is better to go for, seeing that Admin had a a lot of problems with Tata wimax

Airtel all the way. Tata wimax is not something you would ever want to try even for free.

I have had so much trouble getting my 11 days validity put back into my account. First they only gave me 8 days in leu of the 12 days down time I had and that too after refusing first... they told me its my fault once the installation is done and they do not provide any validity for downtime.

After a lot of phone calls and e-mails they gave me 8 days instead of the 11 days downtime I had.. Then I sent a few more e-mails and a few phone calls and a couple of days back they gave me another 3 days which makes it 11 days in total.

My connection was down for 12 DAYS I will not call them again and would let Ratan buy his kids some sweets with that money. Its Rs47 something... Tatan bhai dont forget to leave a comment here on how your kids liked those sweets.

This is not the final word as its been less then a month since this connection was installed.. but till now whatever Ive been through my verdict is against Tata wimax and I will not advice anyone to get tata wimax connection.

of 15 days, has worked only 2 days
i know 11 sales guys and 4 managers
its still down

i got nat enabled and called my comp guy to get it for multiple users
next day wasnt working, tata said they removed my nat, dont know why
i re called my comp guy and he configured it again

today, it stopped working again. they did something at back end and it worked but now wont work with multiple users again. i have to call my comp guy again


im ready to take them to consumer court if anyone is interested

1) How are you sharing the connection wired or Wifi
2) is your connection always on ie: login page removed
3) how are you assigning the IP's to the client machines dynamic or static
4) What are the DNS addresses you are using.

Using a standard netgear Wifi router

2) is your connection always on ie: login page removed
the login has been removed (though it took me two days to convince the call center staff that this could be done the jackas5es)

3) how are you assigning the IP's to the client machines dynamic or static
I have the static IP fed in to the router. I then use local settings on each machine to connect to the router

4) What are the DNS addresses you are using.
20 2.5 4. 15.3 0 and 20 2. 5 4.29. 5
(without spaces)

Anyway, last night i left it hard wired to my XP latop and it worked throughout the night
i then connected to wifi router and it worked for a while then dropped
i connected using wire again and it wasnt working
i reset the pppoe box, nothing
after a while it started working
i used the router again and it wasnt working

i have no idea what these guys are up to but im thinking of removing the connecting, its a piece of sh!t

hold on whats your ipaddress of the Router and tata gateway address , i faced the same issue , change it if they are same. it will work.

The best thing I can suggest is send an e-mail to customer care one to nodal officer and one to appelette authority and keep sending new e-mails twice a day untill they sort out the issue.

Going to consumer court is not a group sort of thing you can go to the consumer court on your own and it just takes Rs100 in total.

Do let us all know how it goes.
