Thread: Tikona Plans and Demo

Talking about Tikona broadband lately, one of my friends in Mumbai had Tikona people go to her house for a new connection and show demos and the plans. They showed her the 2mbps speed and it gave a 550kbps downloading speed, and she said that for a 100mb file it took 3-4 minutes to download, and she said the best thing is that the speed was constant. I didn't quite believe her, but if thats the case, then its a really good isp which gives good speeds.

Ya plans are attractive and they have got a toll free Tech support which many dont provide.

But where is their service available... it seems they are about to launch in Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai.

Yes, they have already launched their service in Chennai. They say that a wifi access point could cover 300 metres. If they don't have an access point in your area, they will fix one at your place. The one time installation charge is Rs. 500, it seems. They added that their service could be availed from anywhere in Chennai

Frankly speaking I wouldn't trust the so called "Demo" or "Trial-run" which they give you that much. I'd take that with a grain of salt.

This is "India" after-all! I'll mostly hook up with their connection for abt. 3 months. If the service is cool then it's a decent enough company or to hell with them.

They came to my place too just some hours ago and they showed me i checked if the speed was fluctuating or not and it didn't fluctuate during the demo and their signal (antenna, whatever they call it is near my place).So, i hope if i even got the connection it won't be that bad

please don't be fooled by the demo, my house is near the ap too, my plan is ful599, in this i should get about 37.5KB, but most of the time i get around 5-9KB to 18KB.

I got 600 kbps for 799 plan and i got 65 while downloading.

Hi there... To my knowledge FUL599 gives decent download speed. The best part is that they provide 1st 200 Mbs download @ 2 Mbps speed as complimentary bonus. Speeds are ok most of the times. Since it is an unlimited download plan with 300 Kbps, speeds might fluctuate sometime but mostly it is decent. I am on the same plan. Enjoy the services.

how much speed do you get most of the time? i'm thinking of cancelling

I get around 150-180 kbps speed.

mine is much slower. but are you still satisfied?

I am on UL1399 plan and i get decent speed for unlimited download. BSNL is giving 512 Kbps speed for 1350. So its better na if i pay 49 rupees more and get double speed.

True Mr.Kaju Shetty. Even I am on UL1399 plan and enjoying downloads and sharing it wid my friends. Clips, songs, movies, softwares... Life's fun with wireless broadband...
