    Default How is the performance of Tikona in Chennai?

    Hi Friends,

    How is the performance of Tikona in Chennai? speedwise, service wise?

    some of their executives contacted me with their plans. I found their unlimted plans are attractive but i suspect their sppe.

    Anyone in chennai have Tikona connection? Please advice

    i'm from hyderabad and i can tell you their service is very bad(customer care wise) speed wise its very shaky, they are truculent. i don't know how its going to be in chennai

    Default Tikona chennai feedback

    Guys...

    any feedback on Tikona in Chennai ?

    planning to go for "circuit breaker plan CB299" which they say 2mbps for first 1024 MBs and then 64kbs after 1GB data download. . can we get at least 50-60 kbps while doanloading?

    This is not circuit breaker plan its ass hole plan 1gb i can spend with in 45minutes even 256kbps is not a broadband speed then how you can go with 64kbps minimum 512kbps should be there .

    Yep. this is a rubbish plan that doesn't even deserve the name Fraudband, let alone broadband.

    Might as well go back to the days of dial-up modem.

    Default New plans are value for money

    Tikona's new Unlimited plans are value for money. Got their ULTD 599 plan. Am getting .52 mbps against the promised 512 kbps at Thiruvanmiyur. Yes there are fluctuations and torrents dont work as smoothly as on a wired ADSL connection. But for the ease with which I got the connection and the value it provides, I can forget it as minor inconvenience.

    Value to you is your own decision according to your own criteria, so I can't argue... but ease of getting the connection? Back in 2005, even as a foreign newcomer to the country, I got my BSNL landline installed in two days and my broadband a couple of weeks after that; more recently, my current Airtel landline/broadband was working within a very few days of us seeing them lay their cable in our street, and did not even (unlike BSNL) require me to leave the house, as they came to us to sell it as soon as we called.

    In my case, getting the Tikona connection was as easy as the two experiences you have mentioned, if not easier. I was pleasantly surprised after what I had read about Tikona on several forums/ websites. I had a working connection in 3 days inspite of only one slot - 8pm to 9 pm made available to them.

    Tikona Broadband is worst service in Chennai. AP tower not properly working. Outdoor modem which they provided has issue. Frequently, connected flapping & request timeout with Tikona Gateway.

    Do Go For New Connection with Tikona (India No. 1 Worst Wireless Broadband Service) Buddies.

    In billing if we made payment through Net banking / Credit Card. They says that 2.5% of discount on next bill.

    But, billing system forgets to calculate the discount amount. If you complaint to customer care about this “they says that amount dedicated for Late Payment”. And also you received the SMS as follows.


    "Dear Subscriber u have been chosen for complementary in person collection service. Now handover Tikona Wi-bro Service Bill cheque to our bill delivery executive”.

    Next bill onwards, discount amount is not shown.

    Default No. 1 worst service provider

    Tikona is one of the VERY WORST SERVICE. They control the speed and never give the full speed as promised. Their call center is a nightmare. Worst than a government call center (BSNL). Simple example for this is: Their call center timing is 8 am -- 12 pm. Normally, if u call within this time and if they are busy you wil hear a recorded message saying "your call is important to us. all our customer care executives are busy. plz hold the line ...." But, if you call in any other time also you will hear the same message. what does this mean? so, if someone who dont knw the timing and if they call in some odd time, he hav to wait for hours thinking that his call will be answered.

    These guys use the same technique most of the time. I never got the call attended for the first time. very ******* service.

    The only thing we get from them is sleepless nights after wasting so much of our hard earned money.

    So, never go for this

    Default Good speed in OMR Perungudi area

    Got the connection 3 weeks back. Getting good speed as per the plan (2mbps). Trying to connect using a Belkin wifi router. Will update if the installation is successful.

    I am agree with all the complaints against TIKONA. I m using Tikona for nearly 6 months and I am not happy with my broadband speed, but plan charges are less that is why I am still using TIKONA. There are some problem with speed but I think this Tikona has more problem then other service provider. I called Toll free number 1-800-209-4276 to raised complaint, I came across one new options from Tikona i.e press 1 for technical support (I was accepting that this will not work) I followed the instruction to my surprise call was connected to Engineer, issue was resolved as there was some alignment issue, I was changing the position of CPE and the technical guy was guiding me that this is proper position as the device was catching maximum speed. Till know Net is working fine, hope this will continue. I am thankful for your assistance"
