Thread: Connectivity of Tikona in Pune

hi guyz,
I need ur help.
Soon i wil b shifting to PUNE some area caled HADAPSAR, Magarpata city
so heard abt dis provider(tikona)
so can anybody please help me
My questions are
1. how is the connectivity & download speed?
2. If the speed not so good and you want me to switch to another provider please mention the name and the plan details

P.S. I want good/excellent download speed and unlimited plan with fix monthly charges.

My budget is upto1500.
so please help me out.

You can go for BSNL Landline and Broadband if you want value for your money. No other vendor will give you unlimited connectivity with this budget at good speed.

However, you may try Relience NetConnect with slightly more budget

Thanks for ur suggestion linud....Bt I have Heard they are providing Gud Speed in only limited Plans(Upto 200KBPS), However they are not Providing that good speed in the Unlimited Plan (somthing Up to 50 KBPS). SO which plan R u using and how much ACTUAL Download speed Do You get?

Not yet man...
I call up their customer service and they told me the same answer for each and every time but still no action yet. IDK. I think they are not interested in to their new customers. LOL. What about you? Are you from Pune too? Are you able to take a connection or not yet?

Read the other threads , in this forum.
If you get it in WIFI mode without any modem/router/wifi, involved, with their knowledge they will allow 4 systems to be connected.( mac address blocking and dialer mode )

BSNL according to me is the costliest of all and doesnot provide unlimited usage plan with higher speed (Rs.1350 for 512 Kbps unlimited plan)... I am using tikona from last 2 months without any problems (Rs.1399 for 1 Mbps unlimited usage plan) ... They provide broadband plans with high speed @ very affordable price... Installation is quick and added benefit is their all home solutions... wireless broadband with best of services... CC needs to improve otherwise its a good ISP...

ok thanks Speedmaniac..Now again you have changed my mind...I will have demo from both of the companies....I hope BSNL and Tikona Gives demo or Trial Period..

BSNL is not so desperate to give demo in your house/flat!
Even if you [personally go to
BSNL CC , and apply, there is no guarantee, you will get the connection within a week, and you have to submit various documents/photos also.
Ask any ISP whether you can download 100GB FREE per month paying for 1.5 GB or 2.5 GB etc.

2. If you have a BSNL landline phone, check
Prepaid BB in your city. You can connect to BB from anywhere in India to BB using Bsnl landlines
( say from a friend's phone. No charges incurred by him )


The demo may be satisfactory by other PVT ISP's , but read the comments in concerned
ISP's forums.

essbebe thx for your suggestion too...but the problem is that I don't have BSNL landline. And also, Are you sure these people (BSNL People) don't give any preinstalation Demo or somthing?
Also, which ISP you are with? I mean what plan??? and Is it good in terms of Connectivity and download Speed For Torrentz and other Sites....

Speed varies , from various web sites/servers/ time etc.
For torrents Movie downloads etc Only BSNL/MTNL give U/L time block
0200AM to 0800AM and 1200AM to 0600AM
Also Airtel: 1000PM to 0600AM.
Customer satisfaction , as reported in forums
AIRTEL No 1. BSNL No 2 Reliance No 3
TataIndicom ( many dissatisfied users )
