Question Setup Linksys router with Tikona

    Hi,
    This is my first post.
I switched from Hathway to Tikona for cheap and fast internet.

Tikona guys place Nano (some sort of redeiver and I got a regular Cat5 network cable) and I am having my Linksys router, which somehow I am not able to connect, but when I connect (cable) to computer directly using DHCP ubuntu picks up IP/etc automatically... and it works well.

So, Anyone knows what settings I need to do in my router WRH54G?
Right now I have done these setting
Set to DHCP configured, WAN Internet port : Enabled, Auto Negotiation : Enabled.

    @nachiket:
Did you find any way to use your Linksys router with the Tikona connection?
Even i was facing the same issue, Tikona connection, a Nano and a Linksys router. Check the topic in this forum with heading : Wi-Fi capability on Nano - is it possible??? (im not allowed to post urls yet)

I was not able to find any workaround for this issue. Hope you were able to crack it.

@albin16Appears, TIKONA has set up their WIfi router
for three different laptops installing their Dialer software in all.
please search in this forum for the thread .
So far no useful input from any TIKONA users.

    hello guys,
    thanks for your support.
    @ albin16: I solved it
Some more info, When I connect cat5 cable (from NanoStation) to Linux-Ubuntu, It was working fine. But when I connect in Vista, It does not work, so I found a hack. Its by adding DhcpConnEnableBcastFlagToggle in windows registry. Then it works directly in Vista too. (For details you should google DhcpConnEnableBcastFlagToggle)

But As main point was, Setting up router. I figured it out.
It was router problem with some DHCP capabilities. My router is Linksys WRH54G.
There is no firmware upgrade available after 2008. So changed Firmware to dd-wrt firmware (It has special build for Linksys WRH54G).

But when I started using Torrent, my router got stopped working 2 times in last 34 hours, I think its not able to work with huge no of connections.
So found another firmware(Its Tomato firmware) gonna give it try in 2 days. .

    Cheers,

    hello dude
i am also using my tikona connection with my netgear wifi router
its simple to configure the same. i have also tried with the d-link routeras well it works
all u need to do is ..
    1. configure your router for access point mode
    2. enable DHCP
    3. disable bridge mode
    4. enable wep key for for network
    5. insert the lan cable from your modem/nano to internet port of router (which normally u plug to lan port of PC)
5.switch on the power supply and u are ready to use the connection
if any problem mail me at abeejay@gmail.com

    Default Having same problem

    Hi,
Currently I am connecting Nanostation directly to my laptop(with windows vista).and it is working fine, but
I want to use linksys WRH54G router with tikona's nanostation.
but unable to configure it since DHCP doesn't take username and password required for tikona login.
Please help me out with the configuration.
it would be better if you send me a screen shot of the configuration pages

    your help appreciated.

    Thanks a lot
