Default Tikona - HP Laptop - DV6426US - No Broadband set up possible - Pls Help

    Hi Gurus,

I have recently taken Tikona Broadband - Plan FUL599. I have successfully connected to my PC that has XP SP2.

I have an HP Laptop - Model # dv6426us with Vista Home Edition. I am not able to set up Tikona Broadband connection on my

    Laptop.

I have tried multiple times and also searched various forums but I am yet to get an Answer that will help me.

I am familiar with Broadband set up and have successfully set up BSNL Broadband on my Laptop. Additionally, earlier I was

able to set up Aircel GPRS, Vodafone and it went fine.

However, Tikona just dont work. On setting up the Broadband PPPoE connection the last message that I get is this:
The Internet connectivity test was unsuccessful

As you might know Tikona on successful connection must get an IP on its own and must show Packets Received. However, in my

case it only shows the count of Packets Sent 10-100-120 etc but 0 Packets Received.

Here are the tech confign of my Laptop:
    Fax/Modem: High speed 56k modem
Network Card: Integrated 10/100BASE-T Ethernet LAN (RJ-45 connector)
    Wireless Connectivity: Intel® PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection

    Please Help

    Many Thanks
    Hug

The modem MM2211/ or Nano is not usually accessible by users. id PW changed.
contact Tikona CC for connecting more than one system in wifi mode.
    Type ipconfig /all
    see modem Gateway IP..
    Laptop:
you want in LAN mode or WIFI mode ?
IN LAN mode create another dialer
or Use Tikona Dialer and try to connect.

    feedback.

I'm also using HP laptop but different model (DV6-2005AX) one thing i know is that you don't need to set up just install the dialer and put your ID and pass and if you are connecting through WIFI then enable your WIFI.

Default DV6426US on Vista OS - No Broadband set up possible - Pls Help

    Thanks for your revert.

    I am not using WIFI

I want to use Tikona Broadband with wire. It works fine in my PC which has XP OS. However, my Laptop as per given details is having Vista OS. This Vista OS is probably not identifying the connection.

Also take note of some further information:
    1. When I try to Enable the Local Area Connection whose Device Name is Intel(R) PRO/100 VE Network Connection. It just shows the status as Unidentified network. That is I am able to SET UP a new Connection and Enable it. Then it fails and is not able to identify or get any IP from Tikona. It simply shows Packets sent as 10-100-120 etc and Received Packets as Zero.

    2. When I try to set up a new Broadband Connection (that is to say not a Local Area Connection), Broadband PPPoE connection it simply dont work.

In both cases it shows Internet Connection Test was UNsuccessful

    Please Help

    Thanks

    Thanks for your revert...
Please see my detailed reply and help me with your thoughts...

There are two ways u can try.
    one way.
Install the tikona Tikona WI-BRO dialer on ur comp and run the shorcut from ur desktop.
now u will find a drop down box saying "usbmodem". there change it to "ethernetmodem". and login using ur username and passw now it will show u another box asking u to select the network card. so choose ur LAN card and cilck on ok.
This will successfully work if ur connecting through wire.

    second way.
Just connect the modem to ur lan and wait for 3 to 4mins and it will get automatically connected.
open any website but it will be redirect default tikona page. now just click one step back then check the address bar it will show some thing (login.tikona.in/***** ) like this. just remove all the additional path show as * and keep only the main domain and press enter. now it will load the tikona login page there u can enter ur username and passw and get loggedin as how it works on ur desktop.
It may looks bit hard but its very easy...

for accessing the gateway page its not allowed by tikona still im trying to find a way. if i got sure i will update here.
FYI: Tikona is not allowing the to assign the private ip to ur comp they assign the public ip directly to ur comp.

Better opt for WIFI mode from Tikona Now itself.

    https://selfcare.tikona.in/selfcare/...uth/Login.jspx

If your OS is Windows 7 try "connectify" in the laptop connected to Tikona.
The WLAN card in the laptop will/should work as AN AP( Access Point for other systems ( within limited Range )
    2.
I have connected the RJ45 from a similar service XXX to the WAN port of a Netgear WGR614V6. Enable Dynamic IP Rest all auto.
Open the ISP's page in IE and log in!!! in any laptop.
Now as I am far away from Netgear r another rj45 connected
Lan1 to WAN port of another wifi router, in Ground floor )
I access the service 30 feet away.

Not tried for TIKONA, and no proper feedback in forum.
