Default Wifi Not getting connected to second mobile

    Hi Team,

I am facing problem getting connected to Tikona opn new phone I purchased yesterday.

I am subcirbed to Tikona FUL799 plan and I am able to use the connection on my computer. I have also subscribed for a new Router which was provided to me by Tikona. The wifi Router is Ruckus. I can connect to Wifi on my Samsung Galaxy Ace through Tikona WIFI. But I am unable to use Wifi on Samsung Galaxy Y I purchased. It simply says connecting and gets diconnected. I have used the same settings on Galaxy Ace opn Galaxy Y. I have disonnected Wifi on Galaxy Ace and I am still not able to connect though I know wifi routers can handle upto 5 connections simultaneously.

Is this something to do with Mac Addresses?

Any help or assistance will much appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Pradeep

    What is FUL799 plan?
The only plan that I can see is ADCB799 Plan that allows for 8 simultaneous connection. Is this the plan that you are referring to ? If so, call the customer care and give them a piece of your mind(be ready to wait for horrendous amount of time on call and also be ready for the morons answering the phone to NOT make a record of your conversation for next technician and also be ready for your call to get disconnected. Welcome to Tikona )

Also, post the Complete Model Number of the wifi router.

But yes, Prima Facie, this looks to be a case of capped Mac Addresses.

    Try the Following.
    • ByPass the Router.
    • Connect Directly to your primary system(only either a Laptop or desktop)
    • Connect to Net
    • Download and Install WiBro from Tikona Site. Configure it to Auto Start and Auto Login on Startup
    • Login to Self Care Portal(@ 1.254.254.254). You will get the option there
    • Go to section that talks about Mac Addresses...select all of them and delete.
    • Power down the System and Router
    • Connect the Router(RJ45 to WAN Port and another ethernet to Primary system).
    • Start both - Primary System as well as Router together
    • Wait for a minute for WiBro to establish connection
    • Test Connectivity on your smartphones.
    • If needed, depending on your Router configuration, you might as well would have to add other devices manually.

    @sumku
    Thanks for detailed instructions Noted.
In a laptop connected in LAN mode to Tikona
    try this.
The laptop has a built in wlan card or externally.
Install application "Connectify" ( windows OS )
This laptop works as AP ( Access Point) to other wifi systems within range.
    Feedback needed forTikona users.

Thanks a ton Sumuk. I will try your instruction once I get back home tonight. Could you please clarify what WIBRO dialer will do? Is that something I can avoid going to the Browser and login and it will instead automatically login when system starts up.

Should I have to delete all Mac Addresses on TIkona Self Care portal?

As I said in my first post, I dont have any problem getting online through Samsung Galaxy Ace. I do not require simultaneus connection. I have disconnected from Galaxy Ace but still I am not able to connect to Wifi on Galaxy Y.

Thanks you once again for detailed reply.

    God Bless

    Pradeep

@ essbebe. Thanks for reply. Could you please clarify if Connectify can be used on Desktop which is not Wifi enabled. I am really confused as to why I am not able to get connected to Galaxy Y when I am able to get online with the same settings on Galaxy Ace.

    Thanks,

    Pradeep

Yes. This is exactly what it does

Yes from the Self Care Portal

THis is what Mac Address filtering is supposed to do. So unless you delete the Mac Addresses from the Self Care Portal, the Portal will not allow you do add new one's. The Problem that you have posted above(and I am 99% sure) is being caused due to Mac Address Limitations.

    Hi sumuk,

    Tried your instructions...no luck

*Deleted all Mac addresses for Self Care
    *Downloaded dialer

Galaxy Y still says connecting and never goes to the stage where it says "obtaining IP Address". I guess I need to buy Wifi hub to my computer and connect it that way. But only concern will be that my computer should be switched on all the time.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Pradeep

Hi guys, I am Jaideep Rao, I have been a Tikona customer for almost 9 months now. I really don’t understand why people keep flaming them online, I am very happy with their services and till date I have had no issues with the connectivity or the customer support. I really feel all these baseless rumors are being spread by their rivals to hit Tikona’s credibility in the market. I am a happy Tikona customer and whenever I say that, there are always people screaming foul play. But the reality is that I am happy that I went in for Tikona and it really doesn’t matter what others think.

    Hi All,

I think I know what the whole problem is! The culprit is my Wifi Router and partially my phone!

Tikona WIFI Routers are WPA2 Network Type. My Galaxy Ace has setting where I can use Enterprise 802.A with WPA2 Network Type by Galaxy Y does not support this. So I should be looking to purchase new Router commercially.

Any suggestion as to which Router should be bought to over ride this issue.

Thank you Sumku for all your help.

Best wishes for the New Year

    Have a Blessed Year

    Default It worked!!

    Hi All,

Just wanted to let you all know that my Tikona WIFI on Samsung Galaxy Y is now working like a gem! It just took a Firmware update on Samsung Kies and worked like it never had a problem

I am now able to connect three wifi enabled android based phones to the Router.

I can agree no more with Sumku's defining Tikona's Customer support. They know zilch about what we are talking! They really require to revamp their cutomer support base with English speaking reps!!! But I must agree that Tikona is doing commendable job in terms of their service. I have never had an issue since 2008. No connectivity issue or lesser bandwidth or dropped connection.

Thank you for taking time and replying to my thread.

Hope you enjoy the new year.

    Default Mobile connect

    Hi all,

I just wanted the settings to connect my HTC desire HD to tikona wifi. I have a ruckus router from them... Here is the detailed problem...

Until now I would use a setting on my phone which i got from one of the posts on this site and the internet on my phone used to work without any problems. I recently called them asking them about the wifi and they told me that I am not on "all home secured wifi connection" and I should get one to use the internet on my phone and that i need to pay 1500 for a lifetime wifi connection. What's funny is that I have been using the internet on my phone for the past on year without paying a dime.

And I have been told while installing the connection that the I can connect multiple devices with this service. I was just wondering were did this wifi cost suddenly come from??? I used to use for free!!! ... Talk about making profit !! pheww... Is there a work around for this.. I dont want to pay them 1500 for the wifi as its just not worth it.. and i dnt use wifi on my phone that often and I dont even knw if they support phone access.

Also , the funniest part "as told by their phone rep" is the process to change your registered phone number . u need to send a mail to them with your address proof+they will carry out a verification .. the charge for verification 250 bucksss.... r u kidding me!!!

    hi all,

I m sorry .. wrt to my above question the problem is that I cant find the tikona wifi network on phone anymore.. Please help

What you got , could have been a neighbour's connection ! may be disconnected now !
Or you could log in with some ID/PW given in this forum long back!
Now you have to buy a standalone wifi router to get the Phone connected to Tikona. ( try with a friends router first Netgear wgr614V8 etc Rs 1500/= approx cost ) )
Tikona also reads these posts and try to block the tweaks!!
    2.
You can connect to Internet direct with your PHone providerISP.
recharge as and when you feel like.
    3. Or
install "connectify" in your laptop ( with WLAN card ) connected to Tikona. try in cellphone.
