    Angry Discontinued connection, bills paid and yet pestered by Tikona

    I bought Tikona connection (UserID: 1103005279, Surat, Gujarat) almost a year ago and owing to the horrible speed, frequent disconnects and brain dead billing system, decided to terminate the connection and switch to another provider. I had the QUNLTD1949 plan which was to end on 14th March, 2012. The payment up to this period had already been paid by cheque. I called up twice to notify them about my disconnection request and also emailed them a full ten days in advance. I also got the confirmation as under:

    Dear Mr. Mehta,

    Greetings from Tikona!
    This is with reference to your below mentioned request. We regret the inconvenience caused to you.
    We would like to inform that, your disconnection request has been forwarded to the concerned department for necessary action.

    They will get back to you with immediate effect. Refer docket number 1-2234110272.
    In case of any further assistance, please call us at 1800 20 94276 or email us at customercare@tikona.in
    Thanking you and assuring you of our best services.

    After this, I again get an invoice for 15-Dec-2011 to 14-Mar-2012 - the exact same period for which I had received an earlier invoice (with a different invoice number) and already paid for it. They are sending me two different invoices for the same billing period and that too after getting payment by cheque in January 2012 ! I had a similar issue with them earlier too which was sorted after two months.

    Now, the phone calls have started. "Sir, please pay your bill...", "Did you send an email for disconnection ?". I am totally frustrated and seriously considering some legal action (I have all required evidence) unless this issue is laid to rest immediately.

    Mail them in strict words that you have payed the bill and if they don't stop calling you for bills you will move to Consumer court.
    Also attach the payed bill copy and take a printout of the mail for further actions..

    First stop the 5 phone calls a day punishment (automated and human). Unless you think its "too high" an expectation for a customer to have and are not able to stay "true" to it.
