    Default Toyota considering Corolla recall

Toyota is considering a recall for its best selling car corolla.
The recall is in line with the power steering complaints. Toyota worlds largest auto car maker has already recalled about 8.5 million vehicles in four months and this recall is in process to protect reputation. It is still unclear about the regions and number which will be affect .

There has been reports of atleast 30 deaths in USA connected to sudden acceleration in Toyotas.

The recall if taken place will a big blow to the automaker and will affect atleast a million vehicles.
Toyota president also disclosed that a new brake over ride system will be added to Toyota vehicles which will cut the engine power. The US investigation is on and Toyota has said that it will co-operate with requested information.

The model design of toyota Corolla is impressive but they need to place emphasis on this recall to ensure its goodwill.

The recall will be in USA only. Corolla's will not be recalled in India.

Toyota India claims that the "stuck accelaration" problem in USA is not observed in India as the sources are different. No one really knows.

    a) Nearly all (over 99%) of the Corolla's sold in US are Automatic gear models.
    b) Only automatic cars have cruise control function.
    c) Only cruise control has the automatic acceleration/decellaration requirement.
    d) When the accelarator is computer controlled, a software malfunction can cause to get it stuck or accelerate unnecessarily.

Although Toyota claims that Indian models are unaffected, I am not 100% certain.

Yes. Otherwise it is not a recall. When there is an official recall, the cost of recall including parts and labour is being borne and paid by Toyota.
