    Default Toyota innova

I bought a toyota innova in July and its been a little more then two months now and I would like to share my views and experences about this car with you.
The model I am talking about is toyota innova G4 which is the second best model they have in innovas and comes with rear seat ducts of airconditioning which is a definate plus for rear seats.
I have already done more then 6500 kilometres and also been for two services till date one at 1000 and second one at 5000.
I havent really checked the fuel consumption and I think its a non issue for some one who spends 9lacks on a car Its a very smooth car to start with and the engine vibration and noise is negligible although when you are in the back seat you do get a lot of vibration from the engine if your gear ratio is not right and you make the engine work too hard in higher gears at low speeds but that fades away once the car picks up speed.
Its good fun to drive with a very responsive engine almost comparable to a pertol engine as you hardly ever feel that you are driving a diesel engine car. One good thing is the adjustable steering which can be adjusted according to your hieght and where ever you feel comfortable. The hea lights are adjustable as well so that you can move them up and down as per the load in the car.
I havent had any trouble as yet except for the steering rod touching the clutch padle some how and it usd to make a little noise when turned to the left which was rectified when I went for the second service and its been running like a charm since then. The company fitted speakers are alright too.
If you have any specific questions please ask and I would be more then happy to reply to them.

It is the best car available in India under 9 lakh price range. I even drove scorpio also. I liked the innova better. Comfort of the ride is very good. Scorpio is much more shaky.

There is one major problem I am facing these days and that is when a fly gets inside the car I have to battle with it for 5-10 mins some times to get it out as its pretty roomy inside.

I have never had a driver drive for me but now I have hired a guy who drives me around where ever I go and it does feel pretty royal in the back seat the passenger seats ( toyota innova 7 seater version) are very very comfortable and I have got a small attachment which is attached to the the front seat at the very bottom and it serves as a laptop table. You can get it at Lajpat nagar at any of the car accessories shop but make sure you get some leather on it otherwise it will ruin the interiors of your car.
I just got another music system fitted as the previous one didn't have an option to plug in the ipod. This one has an option to connect any blue tooth players and goes very well with nokia phones

Innova is really a great car and i would say that is was a really good replacement for Qualis. The best thing i like about this car is that it is very spacious and also it is very good looking car.

Innova is a definite choice when it comes to a Van... It is really a great family car and another thing is that this car has a great interior design which is something i really like about this car.

I have had a chance to hire toyota innova once for a long distance travel, as i don't own one. At that time, the travel was indeed a very long one and it was driven by another fellow, and i was sitting behind and to be frank it did went like a breeze, i did not feel travel sick at all even after travelling such a long distance. Toyota Innova is indeed a great vehicle for long distance travel esp. with country in india where roads are bumpy.

what is the average bill that you get when you put Innova for servicing ( after free services )...??? And how about service stations location.
I usually prefer maruti vehicles cos they service centres located even in most remote parts, its reqd. when u do travel a lot... But i am seriously planning to buy Innova....

The typical cost for servicing an Innova will be close to Rs. 5k to 6k (paid service). This is assuming that you do not need to do any major overhauls or repairs. Buy an Innova only if you commute a lot, have lot of people to carry, or want it for long distances.

I am not sure whats ahead but I have only paid Rs 1600 till date and my car (or van if you wanna call it that) has done 15000 and is now due for another service.

I am here in Delhi and service is never a problem even if you just walk in without an appointment. Toyota has got service centres across the nation and I dont think it would ever be a problem to find one near by.

If you love getting some respect from two wheelers and small cars... go get an Innova.. the reason being its big and people just give way

even if you are going to drive it yourself its a treat on Indian roads and I can say for sure that the rear seat in the 7 seater version is better then any car I have travelled in ... in my entire life. ( I have driven and been in the back seats of Bmw and merc trucks and land rover, also been in a Lexus truck on Indian roads besides Honda crv and a few others but you can not really write off the Innova in terms of seating comfort.

When I say better or nothing worse then the above cars I only mean comfort and the feel you get inside on bumpy Indian roads while travelling long distances but you obviously cannot compare the engines or the brand value with an Innova given the cost factor to start with and also the quality of all these trucks and cars.

I have also used this innova to sleep at night a few times with the engine running through out the night when there is an electricity cut and to be honest you hardly feel the vibration of its big ass engine .. the best part is that the engine doesnt make any noise when you hit the aircom button unlike other cars available in India which make you feel as if you are making the engine do something it wasent designed or powered enough to do.

as mentioned in the above post about long distances... I would like to share my experience with innova on delhi roads... I actually bought this innova just for the high way and I had a small car to go around near by places but its now been a few months since I have touched anything but this new innova when I drive myself I hardly ever have any trouble with the size of the car as the rear view mirrors are so large and cleverly placed. Parking has never been a problem even at places like karolbaag.

If you have any specific questions.. just shoot a reply here and I would be more then happy to take some time to reply to all your questions.

In case you dont get a reply in a days time please send me a PM with a link to this thread coz I might have missed your reply.

People do sometimes mistake you as a taxi driver some times ( May be I look like one )

As a passenger I feel that the Toyota Innova is the most comfortable car to be in. With broken and uneven roads in India you don't even feel the bumps int he car. The car occupies a large number of passengers, and even when you squeeze a lot of people in the back seats its still spacious and comfortable than any other car.
