Thread: Holiday destinations near New Delhi

I am looking for suggestions for a holiday somewhere I can drive to from Delhi so not more then 7-8 hours from Delhi

I dont mind hill stations and I dont mind being th only tourist on the whole hill stations so offseason isint an issue coz I am just want to relax

I have already been to Mussoorie, Dehradun, Shimla, Kufri, Manali, Nanitaal

Any suggestions otherthen these would be greatly appreciated.

And I am not very keen on going the Rajasthan way either.

You have given many of the possible choices, and don't want to go there!

Maybe Chandigarh, good places to relax, eat drink and visit!

Rajiv Gandhi National Crocodile Century
It is near chambal ki ghaati
there you can visit sher garh fort and the Rajiv Gandhi National Century where you can enjoy on river banks and can go for real fun, other places nearby are preety strange like chambal n chambal river.

there you can check chambal kae beehad and its really very nice formation o small tilla and pahadi's

and what do you think about ajmer, there you can find lot many good place to be and for peace you can go to aravali hills
there you can go to foysagar too

and if you can afford to drive few more miles then can go to bramha temple well known as pushkar. Can enjoy a lot at pushkar lake.

third place which i can suggest is sambhar lake which is after jaipur and just before makrana.

here you can see lot many good marble statues and things made of marble on attractive rates

if you don't like this then tell me i can tell you some places around punjab and Himachal too

thanks thanks, i have seen lot many places apart from tourist attractions so most of the places i like and visit are strange and very quite. some places are full of peace and nothing more thn that

why not any other place and if you want to visit Mussoorie then better idea is to book hotel for jan first week, if you are lucky enough then you can enjoy light snowfall and go to top tibba in ropeway at morning... it gives a feel like you are going inside clouds

How about Dalhousie?

Mussoorie and Dalhousie both are nice place Mussoorie is in Kumaun and Dalhousie is in Sivalik Himalya in winter snowfall can be happen both the place but ropeway is an extra attraction in Mussoorie but Dalhousie has super natural beauty specially if you visit Khajjiar and chamba.Chamba lake looks beautiful. Dalhousie is little lonely also, tourist generally stay either Subhas Chowk or Ghandhi Chowk in Dalhousie.Natural view can be easily visible from subhash chow.Dalhousie will take 3 hour(by car) from Pathankot and Mussoorie 3 and half hour from Haridwar.I visit both the place ,both are very nice but if want to spend few days may be Dalhousie is more suitable.

Do remember admin that Dalhousie will take atleast 4 days coz you can not reach Dalhousie in 7-8 hours time, if you don't have issues with driving far then chamba is wonderful place.

I quite surprised that there is not much to choose from near Delhi, whereas i always thought that from Delhi there are so many places to visit, but when you actually think about it, there are no a lot, if there are it takes at least 6 hours to drive there!

I think Admin will have to stick to the places he has already visited! Unless he is ready for a 7 hour drive!

I think something in helping you decide where to go is the amount of time its been since you have visited the places you have mentioned!

Leave the places which you have recently visited, and maybe visit a place which has been a long time, because sometimes many things can change over the years!

there are so many places near delhi but admin have already seen all those places thats why this confusion is coming in picture, otherwise check there are so many places.
