I've never been to Kolkata... But I love sea food & its aroma(stink)... Thanks for the info... I'm dying to visit Kolkata now!
I think Bangolore and Pune both are very good city and I think Pune has little low population density last few years Bangalore population density is increasing rapidly lots people are living in Bangalore for job purpose.

Another if you want to come Kolkata any time you can come, the city of joy is always inviting everyone yes sweets are very famous but you have to go the proper shop not only 'ras-gulla' but 'misti dohi'(both my favorite) is another famous in kolkata actually in entire Bengal and i like fish very much i eat fish almost every day(accept Thursday)but not much sea fish maximum river and pond fish like Rahu,Catla etc another people are not gathering every where few places is still present in Kolkata is little lonely but it all depends on time and place

Dont any of u mis-interprete me or mis-understand me please !!!

I have lived in kolkata since i was born and I would love to be around here. And Aashaka, the fact that kolkata is over-populated largely depends upon another fact, that it was one of the major places in pre-independent india. It was also near a gr8 port which now can only be found in history (no glamour left). Even if u visit all the nooks of this city, u will find the same crowd everywhere ( I wont lie to you ). And I also believe that West Bengal had to suffer the largest population of immigrants.

The cities in India, which are too proud to say that they are less populated and squeaky clean, shall be worse than kolkata after some odd 30 years (or maybe much sooner ). We Indians (as a population) are too damn ignorant about how to keep ourselves above everybody else ( no matter how much we are proud of our new found out-sourcing capabilities, no matter how much open-minded we seem to have become). As far as i can see, our progress has been limited to imported undergarments and a weird-lifestyle.

Now, why I spoke negatively before ??? because after all these facts when i see someone shout the slogans about our heritage and cultural backgrounds, its darn hard for for me to stay put. What backbone are they talking about, the one they themselves have twisted and REMIXED and shat on so many times. Want to know about the real india, then try to look in the gutters, try to look at the places where our once ancestors lived but now it plays 8 khan-busters a day over the place they were born.
My father was an indian, so was my mother, and so am I.

First of all I think it's not necessary to give brief description about my nationality because if you are true indian then it will reflect on your word and another thing when i travel in india I still remember few of the incident one in 50 KM away from Jaisalmer(actually desert of Sam) that was the afternoon when door of our car is open I took some foods and snacks one 6-8 years girl she is watching us constantly suddenly she tooks a yellow stone from the ground and she came to me and said "took this and give me the food" and i asked "are you selling this ?" she replied "yes" I saw that kind stone is every where in that place I was astonished but one think I can realize that this innocent girl is helpless can't do much and i gave my food and collect the stone i saw within a min few other boys and girls has come that time I feel helpless and i back to the car and watching the girl I saw smile in her innocent face another incident is in Sikkim where little boys and girls(6-10years) in season are push the tourist car when ever the car is stop in the clad without your any invitation they come and doing there job after that they asked some little money this is side income when i gave little money i see the same smile what i see in Rajsthan that's the common in India in spite of all the problem the smile is present in that face they don't know what is future 30 years they only thinks about today and tomorrow
very few person are speculating my life-style so i tell something I never see a single Bollywood movie in the Hall or multi-plex I saw few classic movie only in Nandan(Rabindra Sadan) and in fact in this thread i know the exact number of shoping mall of Kolkata hardly i went one or two, When i visit india always try to go remote place and new place not only the famous place yes it's true we all have to know our ancestors because that can give us an idea how to make our life glamorous so i born in Howrah and yes cigarettes shop is very near to my house but what ever be i am not a smoker so if i love my city then obviously has some different reason.

very true and precise that every place in the world has its negative and positive points!

yep.....population is still growing sooo fast in India inspite of Govt. making soo much of an effort.....but on the other hand....we shud learn to utilise this source than waste it....!!!!

I vent been to pune....ever....its like on my list since last year but vent got an oppurtunity.....! Blore i visit almost twice a year.......sicne last 2-3 years...!!! i agree due to the IT industry as well as other industries being developed around....there has been a tremendous increase in the popn there...!!! i remmeber once me n a fren of mine were tryin to reach brigade road.....which is almost like one of the famous streets....from whitefield n it took us almost 2.5 hours to reach there.......at around say 7:30 pm...!!!! similar is the traffic in mumbai in peak hours...one has to take time out n than travel if by car or bus.....though i enjoy gng in locals......but one has to b fast enuf to get on the locals.....n shud understnd the basic sign boards n u ll neva get lost on mumbai stations....but if u mess up in findin out east or west....thts it....u r done for another hour or more....!!!!!
Dont count wat u lost, cherish wat u ve & plan wat to gain...coz past neva returns but future may return the lost! Think-Decide-Act!!!!

very touching story ..... but you ll agree with me that not many people are like u and especially Adults [Indians] are not as patriotic as they should be .

Patriotism is not hating others [Pak , American culture etc] .... but loving your own .... people unfortunately dont understand this ....
