Default Nainital holiday

Here is a look at certain places which you should definitely visit while on holiday in Nainital.

The most famous place in Nainital is the Naina Devi Temple which is located on the northern shore of the Naini Lake. The temple has been built in faith of the presiding deity, Maa Naina Devi who is represented by two eyes.

Another place of religious importance is The church of St. John in the Wilderness. Established in the year, 1844 the church is located on the north end of the town. It is about a half a mile away from the Naina Devi temple.

Also visit the place called, Snow View which is locates at a height of almost 2,270 m on the top of the Sher-ka-danda Ridge. On a day with a clear weather, it provides a spectacular view of the snowbound high Himalaya. One can see the including Nanda Devi, Nanda Kot and Trisul. The best time of the year to visit the place is late October and November.

Do visit the Naina Peak. It is also known as Cheena or China Peak. It is the highest peak in the town, and has an altitude of 2,615 m (8,579 ft). The peak is located at a distance of 6 km from the north end of the town. From the top of the peak, we can see a really broad swath of the snow clad high Himalayas. It also provides a panoramic view of the town of Nainital. You can go an a trek and hike from the Nainital town up to the peak. If you lack the required energy, you should hire ponies from Mallital or from the Snow View.

Include these places in your must visit list and make it a point to see them all whenever you can.
