Rep Power: 12 | Places to check out while on a holiday in Manali If you are on a holiday in Manali then do check out the following places Rohtang Pass is a wonderful place located at a height of 13,050 feet above sea level. It is a much popular tourist site it is as cold as winters even during the summers. Rohtan pass is located at the highest point on the Manali-Keylong road. From here one can get a wide panoramic view of mountains. This view can really be breath taking. Nearby there is a small but amazing lake, the Dassaur Lake. Also located nearby is the Beas Kund, from which the river Beas originates. If you are going in winter, most probably the road to Rothang Pass is closed. Another place you have to visit the Rahala waterfalls. They are located at almost a distance of about 16 km from the town of Manali, near the start of the climb to the Rohtang Pass. There also are a couple of Buddhist monasteries or shiny Gompas. The monastries are maintained by donations made by the local community. Some money also omes in through the sale of hand-woven carpets made in the Buddhist temple’s workshop. You should also go to Rani Nala which is located at a distance of about 46 km from Manali. It is actually a glacier point where the snow is present throughout the 12 months in a year. Last but not the least, do check out the Vashist Hot Water Springs and Temple. It is located 3 km from Manali, right across the Beas River. There is a small village by the name of Vashist that has natural sulphur springs. There also were some Modern bathhouses that have now been closed, this happened as a result of a conflict with the village elders and the Manali council. |

Rep Power: 10 | I had been to Manali thrice! Its one of the two best Hill-stations I liked so far... Other being Nainital... But Manali has one added advantage of Rohtang pass during summers... Its open for tourists during summer only... And its covered with snow throughout the year... For people who are little adventurous,, there is facility of paragliding near Manali... Manali is favourite holiday spot of our Ex-PM Mr. A.B. Vajpayee... He used to go there every summer... |
