Thread: Srinagar holiday

The city of Srinagar is a gateway to really the most scenic and beautiful places in the Indian subcontinent. The city has some really wonderful places to be visited on holiday.

Srinigar itself is a beautiful and world famous hill station. It has a wonderful skiing resort Gulmarg located just 50 km from the main city. This is really a wonderful place to visit. You can ski there or just enjoy the scenic beauty of the hills in Gulmarg.

You should also visit the famous lakes while you are in Srinagar. You have to visit the world famous Dal Lake. The lake has a large number of houseboats. These houseboats enjoy worldwide popularity. Since Srinagar is really small and yet is very beautiful with amazingly wonderful climate in the summer, you can just go for a walk in the city. While on the walk make it a point to visit the very famous Nagin Lake.

Just outside the city’s limits, located are the very beautiful Shalimar Gardens that were created by Jehangir, the world famous Mughal emperor, in the year 1619.

Srinagar also has several gardens which were laid by the Mughal emperors at different places in the Indian subcontinent. These gardens are also called the Mughal gardens. The Mughal Gardens are also located in Srinagar. They are located in close vicinity to each other. These gardens are Chasma Shahi aka the royal fountains; Nishat Bagh aka the garden of spring; Pari Mahal aka the palace of the fairies; Nashim Bagh and the aforementioned Shalimar Bagh. There also are some Tulip Gardens that have recently been opened to the public. They have a variety of colored and textured tulips.

Srinagar is absolutely fabulous holiday destination.

The two places i like most in srinagar are
Lake side and pari mahal

memories means i was there with my friends (boys) and we use to roam all around the place, riding bikes in day time, then lake side walk in evening, eating food at home during late nite hours with burning sigdi and all that. Means lot many talks and laughters
