    Default Deciding a holiday destination

There are so many places to visit, not just abroad but in India also. Each place offers something different and is unique from others which is why its very difficult to know which place to visit.

I need some help and would like to know how you would decide upon which destination to visit. I dont want anyone to recommend something, well you can but then I would also like you to tell me why i should visit that place.

How do i choose my holiday destination?????????

HEre are few things that can be considered,

    1. Timeframe: Plan your holidays as per the available time. e.g. a full visit to Andamans require at least 10 days. on the other hand, u can visit shimla in 3 days.

    2. Budget: Naturally a major factor

    3. Groupsize: If you are travelling in small groups, a calm and quiet place may be prefered , on the other hand, with a large group, u can try to go for adventure holidays.

    4. Preference: Individual preference also matters. Some like hills. others like oceans. some prefer calm and quiet holiday. others prefer on full of activity.

You might also consider giving your priorities (like if you prefer a specific kind of climate), timeframe (there will be a minimum amount of days that you will need to make use of your holidays).

    Deciding a holiday destination
    • Decide on the timeframe & then the destination or else decide the destination & then the timeframe.

    • Check for flight/trains tickets availability on the date of traveling.

    • Check with the various tour operators regarding the hotels, vehicle for sight seeing etc.

    • Check for the reviews of the hotels (google) provided by the tour operators.

    • Compare the details from various tour operators.

    • Finalize 1 tour package.

One factor which you also must consider is what interests you. If you are an adventure person, then hilly areas may be for you. If a beach person, the goa, lakshadweep etc.. If you are a history/culture person then maybe Rajasthan (my beloved home ) . So it also depends on your interests too.

also, what kind of accommodations are you looking for? some places may not have very nice hotels, and you might have to "rough it" a bit. are you into camping?

by the way, are there a lot of hostels in india?

i guess it also depends on good flight/train/bus deals that you can find. some also offer great flight + hotel package deals.
