Thread: A trip to Wayanad

My last trip was to Wayanad district in Kerala on 19-june-09 to 21-june-09. It was quiet a trip that we had. It started with all the possible chaos. We were supposed to move from bangalore at 3 in the afternoon but our bad luc we moved by 4.30. It took us almost 2 and a half hour to reach mysore road. And from there the journey was quiet peaceful on an awesome track with friends. But after crossing Mysore at 10.30 our dilemma started as we were not familiar with the road. We kept on following the route shown to us by the roadside dhabas and other people on road. From gundelpeth we were supposed to take a right but instead a person showed us a straight road which leads towards Bandipur national park. Now starts our real adventure at midnight we crossed half the wildlife without even knowing where were we. And It seemed eternity till we reach our destination. So we called the resort guys who told us we have taken a wrong route but there was no going back for us. Scared to cross that jungle as there was not a single car except our one somehow we reached a checkpost where the guy told us to go straight and after crossing the wildlife we can take a right from the next township which was like another 20-25 kms. So thats how our 7 hours trip to Wayanad becomes a 12 hours trip. And the only thing we can think of is sleep. But the nest 2 days were quiet interesting. Loved being in Edakkal caves,Soochipara waterfalls(sad part is non of my frens allowed me to go down and take snaps in the water ),Kuruva island and Muthunga wildlife sanctuary.

Due to lack of time we missed lots of places which I really regret and I will definitely like to visit Wayanad once again and visit all those places. The place totally captivated me with its greenery and beauty. And I should not forget mentioning about the resort Orchid resort. At cheap rates I guess its one of the best available out there and the ambience was too good. Felt like we stayed at our own home. This is the only resort I ever saw in my life which provided free lodging facility for the driver.

People who have not explored Wayanad visit it once and I bet my last dollar on it that you will love every second of your journey :-).

well currently if you talk about cash in hand lets say about $5.2k lol so if you wish u can take the bet provided you love hill stations :P if you are a cold ceather fobiac forget the bet.. i am not spending a single penny haha

got married yes shifted to bangalore true but unfortunately my parents dint find the name preeti so appealing haha. wrong guess i am a new member and its my first day out here.

I moved to Bangalore recently. I am here regarding my work. Its for temporary. But it seems like I would need to shift here permanently. I am currenlty put up in Rustam Baugh, Old Airport Road.

So is this your first time to Bangalore, How do you find bangalore...

I used to pay my seasonal visit for past 3-4 years religiously then my BF now my hubby was here and for past 8 months I am in bangalore and yes I do work here now. So you stay closeby not so far from my place. I love to hang out at diamond district and bombay post is one of my fav.

Where do you work?

Btw: My wife is from Bangalore, currently she is chennai. She would be joining me next week..:48:

hehe lol no worries makes me laugh too at times. But thats how the heich aars (HRs) love to call the company. So what about you do you like bengaluru?

I just love the weather here. Its so good when compared to Chennai...But I still love Chennai (I have spend 26 years in Chennai)..

well i agree wit you about the weather it has an awesome weather my hubby complains about the summers but compared to delhi wow i feel like i have shifted into an AC moderate summer moderate winter gone are the days of dilli ki sardi and garmi but well i guess from north east to north to south i have stayed in so many places it hardly matters to me till the till i have enjoyable company :-).
