He then told me that I will be moving to AC 2 tier coach no. A1. I had never travelled in an AC2 tier coach before....
Ok to continue where I left off.
So I gathered all my luggage brimming with excitement...went to my new berth. Surprisingly it was a lower berth seat. As you may know there are only 4 seats/berths in AC2 tier as compared to 6 in AC3 tier. On two upper berth seats were a newlywed couple travelling on their honeymoon to Kerala from A’bad. The other lower seat was unoccupied because the person travelling on that seat was going to board from Vasai road station, (Outside Mumbai). That was still at least 10 hours away. So in a berth suited for 4 people, only 3 were present. That gave the entire lower berth area to me alone!!
This newlywed couple was well... much occupied talking to each other. Most of the time they would close their curtains...god knows what they were doing on the upper berth. It’s difficult to know in a moving train.

. Anyway so lunch time arrived...I ordered the lunch. Generally I like south Indian food like Dosa, idli, upma and other such things. But man that food was yuck....It was pathetic! They were charging 35 bucks for the meal. I have had better meals for much less on road side stalls in A’bad.
One of the great disadvantages of AC coaches is that the IRCTC catering staff won’t allow any outside vendors to come inside. Baroda is well known for its cutlets and veg. sandwiches. I was hoping that I might be able to order it...but I think only outside vendor sell those things, and when you are travelling alone, you can’t leave your luggage un-attended. So I could not get those great snacks and was forced to eat the yucky food. I guess I got great seats but the worst possible food.
Ok time went on...I completed One of Robin Sharma's books during that time...and was brimming with positive energy.
The passenger who was supposed to board at vasai road, eventually did. He was also a business traveller just like me. The couple upstairs were still occupied with each other. So I started talking to this guy...and we had a very normal conversation. He told me that he was a toy manufacturer based in Mumbai and was going to his native place in Northern Kerala. Night came and we all slept...can’t say the same for the people who were on the berth above.
Next day came, I think now the couple were bored from their doing their business. They also started talking with other people. I think second day was the best one. In the morning at ~7:30 we passed the Sawantwadi station (Maharashtra Goa border)...than it was Goa! The best vistas the Western Ghats have to offer!! Since everyone was now friendly with each other and constantly talking the time flew by like anything. By the evening the gentleman seating opposite to me, got off. The name of the station escapes me atm. Only 12 hours journey was left.
We were supposed to arrive at Trivandrum at 7:30am. But how wonderful of the Indian Railway that we actually arrived 2 hours earlier than the scheduled time!
Phew that was a long post...
