Default Cetrimide : Ultimate lense cleaner

Warning:This is just an experiment, pls try it at your risks..

First of all lets learn what is this Cetrimide..

Cetrimide is an antiseptic agent with detergent properties. It has the wide spectrum of infectiousness against bacteria and fungi. It is used as an ingredient of shampoos for treating seborrhoea and psoriasis. A very dilute solution can be applied topically for the relief of sore gums.

So, as you may see, its a typical antiseptic agent and is used as a shampoo for dandruff(Not mentioned here, but doc gave me it for dandruff)

Now, while trying centrimide on head/cleanser-on-sundays, i noticed/thought that why cant be this great agent be used as a rinser of lenses(camera, mobile camera etc)

First of all know where is this agent available.. Cetrimide is bought in plastic bottles, across all medical shops of the country.. Its itself a trademark and is sold by its own chemical name. This yellow liquid is sold in two types. Strong, Dilute/mild i am already using it and i know that a very hard liquid may destroy the lense surfaces/change its property,. but a naive must use only the dilute solution of the same..
From sometime, i notice that Cetrimide is not available in the market, and only Cetrilak is available(same chemical but different company & pleasant fragrance added)
Take a bottle of it, its quite useful. Not just for this lense-cleaning purposes, but i found that it is far better than Dettol-Savlon etc.. It helps from Burns, Decays etc.. though a dilute solution must be used because its very hard.

It is available in 200ml plastic bottle. (around 27/- Rs.)
Open the cap and you find a silver coat. Pin it by help of all-pin(dont over pierce as it is very less required)

    How to make Solution(Rinser)

After you have opened the bottle, take two drops of this solution in another plastic bottle if available(old plastic bottle of shampoos etc, confirm it is clean neatly)
now pour water around 100ml in it(yes sounds freak, but it is very hard reagent)
now shake the bottle very well, you will see that color of water changed to mild yellowish(straw color)

Now open your camera/pour a drop of this liquid on the surface. Keep it there for 10 seconds or so..

How to wipe solution from camera lense/dirt surface

Wiping correctly can make the lense be safe from many problems.
Use a very mild, shy cotton cloth. Not thick, has no cotton wafers/bobbling etc.. Leave the cloth(clean it must be) on the lense for few seconds.. (You may use very thin, clean old Banyan/Undershirt for this..

After, you see that there is no wetness left, pull the cloth from top to bottom of the lense very very patiently. Slowly and slowly..

This is the best way of cleaning lenses i have seen (Till now)
Hope you liked my this thread..

p.s: dont throw the solution, use it as an antiseptic lotion/shampoo/dettol...

again want to clean your lenses/specs?? shake the solution bottle very well.. and reuse..

The best way to clean your moisened specs is by leaving specs in water of Cetrimide for 5/10 minutes.. This will loose all the dirt from the sides of lense and also give it a smooth clarity, that no other rinser will match...
do try... (But be cautious of not to apply hard solution..) make the solution for this as told by me cited

I have no immediate comments on this, i.e., I cannot disapprove. But I am not recommending this.

SLR Lenses have anti-dispersion and other coatings. A solvent can destroy that coating. Lens cleaning kits are available in the market. Use approved methods and use approved cleaning agent only.

p/s. BTW, the camera has a 'lens' not 'lense'. The word 'lens' is a singular - the plural is 'lenses'.

hmmmm... yes.. thats i why i wrote warning at the top... do it at your own risks...

but i dont think, that a solvent so already dillute and you mix it up with 100mls of water will damage.. but yes, one cant be so sure.. but i have tried, and it really was helpful..

about lens, oh sorry i wrote it in quite hurry..

maybe you can use this on all the other surfaces except
    the lens glass surfaces.

for the lenses I just breathe on them and wipe the vapor off with an
    old underwear.

Jokes or puns apart, hosiery cloth is really soft and therefore a good material to clean lenses and stuff that you don't wish to scratch.
