Brisbane Activities

Brisbane is along the river brisbane and swimming won’t be missed out.There are some activities you can perform in this city.Let’s come first to swimming.

Swimming is great.At south bank of Brisbane there is street beach is cleaned by the people concerned and its great fun to splash and enjoy in the waves a bit.It has clear coast,sandy beaches,trees of palm…feel like resting here in cool shade with cocunut water.This beach is guarded by security.

Golf here in less than 2 lac population is best.There are several golf courses here that fits your budget and level.I had been to one of the best here the Victoria park golf course which has 18 holes and its near to brisbane too.A bowling club here to exists and you can go any of these days and preferably sunday by taking out some time and having your hand on bowling.A game of lawn bowls will make you feel sporty!

Cycling is another major thing which brisbane alone feed with 500 Km of bikeways(thats what it is called here) to ride smoothly on highways without polluted traffic.If you prefer bicycles than you have it and you will enjoy it than bus,trains,cars or anything like that and you won’t meet traffic.Its a recreational thing having bicycle and riding smoothly.Its perfectly long 500 Km special bikeway for us.So gear up with some cycling too.the best way to see the hole city is through bicycling.

You will see more crowd in Winter because it’s cold in south in sydney and melbourne and people are likely to come to brisbane.So you see a rush of people in Brisbane.Brisbane is pleasantest in winter.Its warm and sunny quite enough here.I am planning now to head a bit towards Gold coast which isn’t much far and will write you more from there.

Apart from train,bus,car or other vehicle you have airlines facility.Brisbane airport which is quite busy and you have major and many regular flights to asia,asia-pacific,South-east asia,US side,Europe,etc.It is an International Airport-Brisbane International Airport.From here you have taxis or bus running to central of the city and you can almost reach anywhere you want.Flexible enough.Other transports i already told are buses or trains.An airport shuttle runs through.Prefer trains for a change because they are less expensive than buses and more comfortable.

This city is on the Brisbane River side and you can explore on your own with foot.We did it in a small group and quite explored the city and its a fact that on foot you can get on better with city than by seeing it with buses or cars.Other alternative includes a ferry service by Brisbane river.Its quite enjoying and we did.

First we went to QUT art museum and it is a small fine museum and we had a guide tour hired by us which we negotiated a bit.Some contemporary art and some paintings,craft,ceramics type,etc.

Second was Botanical gardens(gardens here interest me a bit!).A good change from busy city life and here you can notice office people having their food or lunch quitefully.Beautiful flowers are seen.You have cyclists,strollers,picnic spenders,etc. and other people sitting and chatting with their families.This is a grassy park and its interesting too have a walk or sit down with food and rest and see people doing fun time activities.There are other places you can visit and time restrains us unfortunately but i think i have had enough.

Brisbane isn’t much big and you can easily explore the city.

Brisbane in Queensland state

Brisbane was our choice to be visited after Melbourne.Brisk!We headed towards it by railways this time.We reserved our tickets, a bit costly but comfortable way through all way.Medium paced trains headed towards Brisbane Trains arrive at Transit center,Roma srret where i suppose major inter-syaye trains arrive.Domestic trians in queensland itself are slower generally and more expensive but quite comfortable.We headed towards nearest hotel taking a taxi.Put our luggage and relaxed on with something to eat.

Brisbane is in south-corner of queensland state.The name Brisbane comes from Brisbane River a upstream river passing through the city which is 20-25 km from the city.Brisbane is formal name for Bris vegas.This city has many good districts according to brisk life.It has cafes,restaurants,malls,hubs,etc.Just a perfect modern city.Brisbane leads in arts and this city has most of its days sunny and mild climate.Galleries & museum,festival calender or cultural calender too.There are many theatres too.Festivals are of course part of brisbane and thats the most common thing in all cities of Australia.Nightlife is good in brisbane.

This city has population less than 2 lac people but its quite modern.You can visit river side park and garden and enjoy your time.

1)26 January is Australian day-cockroach races!(hosted at kangaroo point)Wierd!

2)Brisbane River festival-Somewhere in mid-september for two weeks.Its the city’s major art festival here and lot of involvement both commercially and generally is present.

3)Brisbane International Film festival-In July-August its held for 12 days.A commercial and worth seeing festival in brisbane.Film lovers are eager for it naturally.

These are some main festivals apart from ‘Out of the box festival’ restricted to kids from 3-8 years old for their talent show like art,games,different workshops,etc.This is held in every 2 years(even number of years) in June month.Also biennial music festival is in june in odd years in century.Natural arrangement of festivals!A festival loving city.
