Population of Singapore as of now is about 4.5 million which includes nationals from countries like China, Malaysia and India as well as many foreign workers from South and Southeast Asia. Singapore has English, Malay, Tamil and Mandarin as its 4 official languages. The country got independence in the year 1965, it has very limited space and not enough natural resources even then in 1980 it was considered as a first world country. This resulted in country getting more desperate for foreign workers at all levels in the market. In Singapore, rules for immigration are not simple but complex. If you want to migrate or visit Singapore, you should have the knowledge of the immigration rules. Visitors from outside entering Singapore are not required to have a visa before hand. There are different types of Immigration Visas available for Singapore; given below are the details Professional Visit Pass / PVP: To take up a professional short term assignment, foreign citizens need a PVP in Singapore. PVP visa is issued by the immigration of Singapore to those professional foreigners who have already been employed in Singapore and are just about to start work. Social Visit Pass: If you are a foreign citizen and want to stay in Singapore for a short period of time to attend an interview for a job or some business related work, you require a Social Visit Pass. This pass has validity for just two to four weeks and if incase you want to renew it, you can do so up to three months. Training Visit Pass: This pass is for foreign nationals who are attending trainings in Singapore. The nature of internship should be executive, professional and managerial. If the visit is for three months or less no charges are levied, but if the stay is more than three months you are charged 40 Singapore dollars. Employment Pass: Foreign Directors, executives, shareholders and professionals who want to be employed in Singapore need to apply for EP. Entrepreneurs by immigration of Singapore are allowed to apply for visa or EPs only once they have established their businesses and companies in Singapore. Student Pass: Foreign nationals who want to continue studies full time in schools, universities in Singapore for higher education should apply for s Student Pass or a Student Visa, this process takes around 3-4 weeks. If you have a good work experience and educational background and if you are looking to migrate from India to Singapore you can do so after fulfilling certain requirements: Firstly, you need to have a job offer which is secured in Singapore, secondly, after you get a job, you would required to apply for an EP and finally when you arrive, with the employment pass you can start working in Singapore. If you are a visitor from India and want to immigrate to Singapore entry visa is not required for short term visits, your passport will be stamped with 30, 60 or 90 days visa when you enter Singapore. |
