    Default Thailand..... Advices?

    Hi All,

Me, along with the group of 4 are planning to visit Thailand. Is there anyone here who had been there, and share your experinces and what was the expense like?
Would you advice a package or individual (seperate booking for flights/hote..etc)
Any suggestions on the night life/place to see/hotels

    Cool

Thailand is one of the most value for money destinations . bangkok/Phuket/Changmai etc
if you are going as a family ,you can find decent 2 star /3 star hotels with a nice lobby/coffeee shop etc for around rs 1200-1500 baht. similar class in India will cost rs 3500 Plus./night

look for a cheap ticket from calcutta (As cheap as rs 7500 return) ...or from delhi/mumbai also ok.

Group ticket with 3 or 4 nights 3 star hotel (including breakfast ) is ok.
Inform departure airport + package price.. than I may suggest value for money or not.!

readymade garments are cheap ...not electronics.

Arrival visa at bangkok airport is ok. Dress decently. Not jeans/tshirt and unshaved. wear business pants /smart shirt. Tie ok but Thai land is always hot.

if you can not live with out Indian food, better stay in guest houses (say 300-500 baht/day) in Tourist area like pat phong.
There are lot of sardarji run Indian mess around. pat Phong is the centre of night life in bangkok.

be polite & fold your hand like namaste if any argument arises. Thai boys/men (amatuer kick boxers ) will kick your ass if you make a racket in any bar/night club.
if a very pretty girl looks at you and smiles and gives you a come on look, you will melt and buy her a drink dreaming about when you can take her to bed....
Guess what that most beautiful girl is not a girl ...but a lady boy!!!!
they will have perfect firm (fake) boobs and no hint of manhood (operated!!)

Only prostitutes and lady boys look for Indian/paki/bangla /arabic tourists to take them for a ride .
Decent middle class Thai women are not looking for short term sex with tourists.
There are decent & high class bordellos.... Not that you need to return from thailand with out enjoying the finer pleasures...
look patiently ,you will find... befreind any local Indians ...they wont pimp for you but direct you at the right direction.

Would it not be too much hassle going from one place to another, in this case its 3 places in 7 days. If you wanted to visit a number of places then more than a week is needed.

    @nevinjohn

You should plan a trip soon. Its a very fun place and even if you want to go for an extended holiday there are so many places on the Andaman sea side which are extremely cheap and the quality of accommodation is fairly good. Bangkok and pataya are too touristy and if you get out of those busy places you would find that Thailand is a very beautiful place.

I would highly recomend going to Thailand once atleast and if you go there once you would end up making it your yearly holiday destination. Flights are cheaper then some of the domestic flights within India and hotels are extremely cheap. For hotels you do not get such good value for money any where else in the world. A rs2000 room would beat the crap out of a 7-8k room here in India any day.
