Can someone shed some light on which place would be the best to visit this winter season during christmas holidays in India. I would prefer a hot destination to avoid the winter for some days and should be less crowded too. Anyone?

It all depends on your budget ! Personally Im thinking going in Sharm El Sheikh , Egypt as its really an awesome place to spend some wonderful holidays!
Another good place for you might be Austria or Switzerland (but its really cold there)
Thats it , you choose now
In India you could go to Rajasthan and visit Udaipur, Jaiselmer and a few other places. Another place I can suggest is Andaman Nicobar if you have a partner you will love that place.. There are so many beaches there its just unbelievable. You wont find many people there either and the sand is white with hardly and garbage on the beaches unlike other Indian beaches
Even Goa is pretty good but its beaches are a bit too crowded for my liking but if you like bird watching go for it.. its got some nice birds there![]()
Winters or summers or any season or any occasion, only one place comes to my mind and that is Dalhousie. Its a heaven on earth, a beautiful place I have ever been to.
Where do you want to go abroad or in India?
xwhyz meant the last years winter... 2007![]()
His post is almost a year old![]()

I was not aware that Austria is in Indiahmy:
and i am not sure if where is Switzerland in India is it in south Indian or north India
ok back to topic.. lets talk about 2008 holidays![]()
for this winter you can go to goa or nicobar there are really lot many good beaches to see.. i never been to nicobar but found lot many good pics of same on internet as last time parminder suggested me to look forward for nicobar.
and goa is a place which rocks in winter but bit cowded there![]()
If you like to travel during winter season, the best would be to go to a warmer place.![]()
As Admin suggested last year... Jodhpur / Jaisalmer / Bikaner.... are good places.....
how about chakrata in garhwal??
the area would look really really beautiful in winters. u could go on to the villages over there if they r accessible.
or how about munsiyari. it is a small town + now they have started skiing. and iif ur lucky, u will have really clear view of the snow capped peaks ...absolutely beautiful...![]()
The best time to visit India for tourists is the winter season. The season lasts from October to February. Because during this time the heat of summer is no more. Another reason to visit India in these months is that they coincide with the celebration mood in India. This is the time when maximum well-known festivals of India are celebrated. You can experience true India, in all its richness, by attending these festivals.
The best place to travel in India during winter is Darjeeling or any other hilly places because during winter snow falls in these areas which is very good to see.
thanks...
