    Default Longest journey made

    Im not much of a traveller and I try to avoid travelling whenever possible. I don't know whether because I get bored travelling or I never feel as good after I have travelled. The longest journey that I have made is of 10 hours by car and that's the max, this wasn't a stopping journey where we stopped at different places to see things, it was straight long journey.

    Whats the longest journey you have made, and how long was it? Did you stop by different destinations or were you travelling to one main destination?

    Longest journey that I have made is from Delhi to Vaishno Devi by car. It was a long journey I think it was 16 hours, car journeys do exhaust you, I think train or bus journeys are much better and comfortable.

    BUS journeys are never comfortable for me ><.. a few years b4 we planned a visit to Vaishnodevi with my maternal uncles and my and my family My maternal uncles are soo lazy that we reached the station before time and they reached it after 20min. when the train had already left soo lazy .. then my PA told us to go there by bus we straigth away ran to ISBT(delhi) and took a bus for there TBH i got such a huge pain in legs the otherdays as i was not able to sleep well perthatic journey by 'BUS' and my lazy uncles ;P

    ermm i have made many journeys but just dont remember which was the longest but still have some of the longest in mind
    1) trevendrum(via rajdhani)--> Madurai---> kanyakumari--->Rameshwaram. [was 1 of the longest journeys]
    2) kolkata(via rajdhani)-->Imphal-->Kolkata-->silliguri--> toy train--> darjeeling-->gangtok.

    these both are the longest journeys i had been to!

    The best way to travel when going Vaishno Devi is the train, Ive heard from so many people that there are different trains that get you there in short time, and theres a train that even goes to Katra now.

    The longest journey I have had going from Mumbai to US (obviously by plane), stayed in US for 4 days, then went to Canada stayed their for 2 days then went back to Mumbai via London. The flight from Mumbai to New York was 20 hours, the longest travelling time ever, although I stayed in the US for 4 days i was jet lagged and plus was working, then I flew to Cananda another 2 days of work then flight back to Mumbai, the stopover flight was for only 4 ohours in London.

    My longest train journey was from Chicago to Los angeles and it took three days. It was a direct train and the only reason I took the train and not a flight was because no one was flying those days Never did I travel such a long distance on a train. It was not a bad journey, just too long thats all.

    Longest flight I think was a direct flight from London to Los angeles. I am not sure if this was the longest Ive been. Will have to see the durations and distances to figure out if thats the longest flight ive ever been on

    Car : I went from Delhi to Maharashtra (Nashik, Bombay, another place I cant remember) via Ahmedabad, Surat and on the way back a few places in Rajasthan One hell of a journey that was. We spent some time at each of the places we visited and we were just guys taking turns to drive.

    I have never traveled in a train. Longest flight was from the second floor down to the ground when I fell off the balconey when I was 12 years of age. Longest road journey was from Delhi to Chennai when I took my car back home and decided to drive instead of sending it on a truck.

    Being away from hometown since last 10-12 years, I'm used to the long journeys.

    So the longest journey by train would be Bangalore to Patna: 48 hours was the right time, however, once the train took 55 hours.

    Longest flight: Again Bangalore to Patna - Flight time 4 hours or so.

    Longest road trip: Delhi to Manali via Chandigarh in a car. I don't exactly remember the time it took, but I guess it was more than 24 hours because we stayed in Chandigarh for few hours.

    PS: Most frequent and longest journey- I used to enjoy travelling in Pune-Patna Express during my college days which took 36 hours. It mainly had the students crowd. We were never found on our berths. Always searching someone known or making new friends. The food was the best I've eaten in an Express train and they catered to the choices of the youth. Even the coach attendants used to recognize my face. And they were always up on their toes if I demanded some special favours like Food from Comesum, cigarettes, etc. LOL That train gave me the feeling of Hogwarts train from Harry Potter.

    The longest journey made by me was for 10 hours, nothing more than that and it was made by car. Word of advise not good to travel in car for continuous 10 hours, gives you a bad back.

    its feels heaven, especially when ur in Rajdhani.. The railway route is damn good . Train moves just along the ocean seeing the sea from train is a great experince.
    i think its the konkan railway it has the best scenenry.. coconut trees and the small rural places through which the train passes are so good! the natural beauty of the forest in karnataka maharashtra are great.. allover it was more fun in train then we had in south india.

    Chennai to Arunachal Pradesh, about 7 days, involving train, car, elephant, horse and foot.

    Normally my preferred mode of travel is Rajdhani First AC, with a few books to give company. I do not like flying unless its absolutely unavoidable.

    I think the longest journey I made was from Agra to Jammu, but that was with a few stops on the way. I think it lasted two days with breaks.
