I dont know how many of you noticed but I was absent from this forum for atleast a week in the last few weeksand I am sure you would have guessed it by now.. I went to Dharamshala and Mcleod gang.
I am not very good at writing about travelling but I can say for sure that Mcleod gang is a place worth visiting besides seeing the Dalai Lama it has got some very good mountain views and you can see some nice snow covered mountains even at this time of the year.
This is May and I had to turn heating on at night so it was a good change from the heat at Newdelhi.
If you are travelling from Delhi (which I did) it is almost 600 kilometres. The first 450 kilometres will take about 8 hours and the next 150 kilometres will take around 4-5 hours depending upon how used to you are driving in hilly areas.. The roads are not bad atall except a few patches where they are repairing the roads otherwise it was all smooth.
I didnt find Dharamshala all that interesting except for a few spots where you can spend a few hours looking at the mountains and interacting with the locals.
The moment I reached Mcleod gang which is about 20 kilometres from Dharamshala, it was a bit different from anywhere I have ever been to.. every one I saw there had a smile on his or her face and the only reason I could see was that this place had a different air to it and it was all down to the Dalai lama and all the other temples in the area.
Dont miss it in this life time... its a must
Here are a few pictures I took there :
Sorry I just remembered.. I am yet to download them from the camera.. Will post them asaphopefully tommorow.
