I have been to Vaishno Devi at Katra so many times I cant even count

Used to go by bus when I was at IHM Gurdaspur since leaving Gurdaspur where I wasted 3 percious years of my life I have been driving to Katra every time I go there.

I have been there in almost every reason really but its better to go when its not that cold coz its freezing up there in winters.

You can also get one of those battery operated three wheelers now which go from half way to the Bhavan and back aswell for a small fee although its more fun and satisfying going walking all the way up and back.

I have been to Vaishno Devi once. From Jammu to Katra, we went by bus. We started the hike from the foothills around 4 PM and reached the top around 10:00 PM and then started the descent around 12:30 AM and were down by 5:30 AM.

I have been to Vaishno Devi around 15 - 20 times (Thanks to my mom)
My mom and Dad visits there every year, on the very next day of Diwali.

we normally board the Jammu Tavi Express which takes around 12-13 hours from Delhi...after reaching Jammu, you have to take a bus to Katra, you can even opt for a taxi but that will cost you around 400 to 800 bucks, I will suggest you a deluxe bus which are normally good at condition and safe to travel....

After reaching Katra you will find numerous sign boards which will guide you further

Ah..i forgot dont forget to take the yatra ticket from Katra before commencing your journey

And still if you find some problem just say JAI MATA DI
