If you miss the popular TV horror series ‘Aahat’, there is something else that you can watch on DVD. It is the popular TV series, Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ is a cult American TV series; it has won an Emmy-Award. The series aired from 10th of March, 1997 to 20th May, 2003. The series was created in 1997 by the acclaimed writer-director Joss Whedon. He developed it under his production company, Mutant Enemy Productions.

‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ follows the life of Buffy Summers who was played by Sarah Michelle Gellar. Buffy is the latest in a line of young women called The Slayers. Slayers are young women chosen by fate to battle against forces of darkness like vampires and demons along with many others.

Like all the Slayers, Buffy is also aided by a Watcher, who is her guide and also trains her. Buffy is somewhat different from her predecessors. She has a circle of loyal friends who are also known as the "Scooby Gang".

Buffy Anne Summers is chose as a ‘slayer’ to battle evil forces. As a result she is endowed with dramatically increased physical strength, endurance and agility. She was also provided with accelerated intuition, fast healing, and with some clairvoyance which is usually in the form of prophetic dreams.

As stated above Buffy is guided by her Watcher, Rupert Giles. Giles is almost never referred to by his first name. Giles is a member of the Watchers' Council, with a job to train and assist the Slayers. Giles researches on the various supernatural creatures that Buffy must have to face, with insights into their origins and advices on how to kill them without much of an effort.
