Default Millennium

Millennium was a very good television science fiction series that was produced during the period between 1996 and 1999. It was developed and produced by Chris Carter, who also did the same jobs o The X-Files.

The show centered on the life of former FBI investigator Frank Black who now works as a freelancer forensic profiler. He possesses a unique ability that allows him to see the world through the eyes of the murderers and the serial killers. Still he is not some kind of a psychic.

Frank Black investigated the most horrific of crimes and he usually dealt with the mysterious Millennium Group. The Group has some sinister intentions and power to fulfill those intentions.

Both The X-Files and Millennium were dark drama series and were produced by the same production company, Ten-Thirteen Productions. Both of them were based on original ideas by Chris Carter. Also both of them were broadcasted on the FOX network.

A fact which is generally accepted by fans of both the series and critics alike is that both of the TV shows take place in the same fictional universe. They however dealt with dramatically different themes. Also the direct link between the two is actually very small.

A slew of consistently low ratings acted as a cause for the FOX network to order the cancellation of the series before it started with its 1999-2000 season. There were several other factors that are contributed to the increasingly small audience base. These factors include the complex nature of the series' mythology. The series also faced some conceptual problems also it was broadcasted in the difficult Friday night time-slot. It also suffered from a lack of critical attention, a lack of proper promotion as well as poor scheduling and marketing decisions made by FOX throughout the entire run of the series.
