Yeah that girl tried it too like bhanu... both r stupids...

Even I felt that thr r not good singers this time... but yeah u r right.. its too early...
I have expectations from a girl whoz from UP... Banaras or lakhnau...
she belongs from a very good musical gharana types family... but yesterday she lost her way while singing with that healthy guy(he was kool)... maybe she needs a bit of exposure... But we need a female indian idol this time...

Yes we do, ive seen generally that in majority of the singing reality shows its the boys who win, i think the girls get too nervous and give in, which is why they get left behind!

It was only until recent a girl from the the show Junoon Kuch Kar Dikanhe Ka where a girl won it!

U forgot... Sunidhi Chauhan was the 1st to win... In "Meri Awaaz Suno"... it was long time back... I don't think gals sing badly in later rounds or give in... normally public vote for male singers... even gals do that... I've seen my friends sis... who used to send around 1000 of sms in each voting period for "Kaazi"... I hope I'm recalling the name right... He was a Kashmiri contestent on Zee's music show I guess...

If judges decide I'm sure we wud have more female singers winning than only a couple to name... Sunidhi chauhan won cuz of judges like lata mangeshkar...and she didn't dissapoint either...

Oh I wasn't aware of that, i never saw that program which is why i didn't know about it!

From the Sa Re Ga Ma Pa children's show it was a girl in that who won, although she was a kid but it still counts i suppose!

Yes that show was telecast on DD when sunidhi was 16yrs kid I guess... she was very impressive ofcourse... shez a product of a contest only... she became a hit after singing in "Mast"...

I suppose these reality shows give a big boost to the upcoming singing talents, which is a very good thing, especially for those people who are not from well to do families!

yeah... absolutely...

I guess current lot of contestants both male/female are much better than last yr... May be I'm passing judgment too early... I really feel for that Girl with Teddy who was shown the door today... She gave one of the best performances yesterday...

I missed this weeks episodes, been very busy! From the auditions i do think that the this years performers are good, but as time goes on we will find out.

Watch out for a smiling guy from Jamshedpur... He was best today...

I think i remember him, is he the one with long sideburns and he sang with the other four guys in the auditions the song from Border!

Bulls-eye!! Thats him... there was one more tall guy in that group... who said all of us sang well when judges asked them who do u think was best.... he was 2nd best... Javed Akhtar even stood up to acknowledge his singing when he finished singing a Kishore Kumar's song... Before that Kailash Kher said that he can see a star in that guy... Those r huge compliments... Had it been from anu malik I wudn't be telling u...

So that means there is strong competition this year round! And for Javed to stand up for someone that boy must have sang very well then!

Hopefully will get to watch to repeat 2maro!

I missed half hour on Friday... didn't know that they repeat it... At what time do they repeat telecast it for fridays and saturdays?

Its on Sunday's, but im not too sure about the time i think its 12, but will find out 2maro and let you know!

Well, I missed almost all the episodes of Indian Idols after I last posted here...

But thankfully I started watching it since last 3 episodes including the final yesterday... So this time finally a girl manages to win a singing contest for 1st time on Indian Television... Sourabhee Debbarma, the cheerful and talented singer, won the coveted title... This girl from Tripura is the first female to win the Indian Idol... :clap:

Her performance in the last episode was outstanding and the judges couldn't stop praising her... In fact, the judges Javed Akhtar, Anu Malik, Kailash Kher and Sonali Bendre looked relieved when the winner of the Indian Idol 4 was announced... Sonali even presented the jubilant Sourabhee with the favourite brand watch... She walked away with a Rs.10 million contract with Sony TV, a car and a trophy after beating her fellow contestants Bengali girl Torsha Sarkar and army man Kapil Thapa...

well i neva followed this show but sumhow watched the finale yest. for an hour or so.....n def i agree sourabhee did sing really well

I started this thread and only watched the show till the auditions, then kind of lost track of it, but even i watched the finals and only the part when they announced the winner. I take it that the girl Torsha came third!

Yeah Torsha was 2nd runner up!
