Uninor has now launched GPRS services, which are available for their prepaid subscribers. Currently Uninor have their mobile services in nine states which include Orissa, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andra Pradesh, UP, Bihar, Uttaranchal and Jharkand. Till 6th May 2010, Uninor are offering their prepaid customers free GPRS services.
But obviously after the free launch service there will be charges, which will be 10 paisa for every 10kb. The GPRS service can be used by two different products which are:
Myconnect 9, for which the cost is Rs9 and this has a validation of up to 3 days and provides free browsing of upto 60MB.
Myconnect 90, which is priced at Rs90 and gives a validation of up to 30 days with free browsing of up to 3GB.
Like mentioned before the free browsing will only be valid until the stated data usage on the specific products, but thereafter there will be charges of 10p per 10kb. Uninor MMS charges will be Rs5 per MMS.
The wap portal for Uninor is very simple and only has 6 icons on its homepage, so nothing too complicated!
According to the Executive Vice President of Uninor, they want to launch many more ideas sooner and give their subscribers the best services from their mobile phone service provider.
Although one thing still remains is the availability of their services all over India.
