Videocon will launch its Direct-to-Home (DTH) service in Gujarat by September 09. The company�s Chief Marketing Officer Jaideep Rathore said that the DTH services will be first launched in North India in June.

Rathore was in the city to inaugurate Videocon�s first multi-brand retail outlet �Digiworld� in the western region. Rathore said that the company plans to open 100 such outlets across India by October and the second Digiworld store will open in Rajkot soon. According to Rathore, Videocon�s DTH will not require customer to buy set-top boxes as they will offer this service at a very competitive cost as compared to other players.

Gujarat, according to Rathore, accounts for nearly 8-9 per cent of the company�s total turnover of Rs. 8000 crore.
