Thread: Wanna buy dth ,confused between vediocon d2h & tata sky

This is Siddhartha,
from a long time Ive been thinking to buy my 2nd dth,for my bed room,
i already have a Dishtv in my hall ,its off the 1st series ,
i think old format,and things don't look that good as days go bye.
ive read most of the post,and am confused,i need new technology now with good AV.
i want to buy the Vediocon d2h with DVD player,
(since i don't have DVD player in my room & am using a cable line
which is the worst I've ever used).
Tata sky people (sales call center) are offering set top box for 1500rs with free installation & 3month free pack & monthly pack for 275 + 45 (colours etc) .
this offer i think is good but i need all ur advice,as i read most off ur blogs,
i would want to Go for Vediocon d2h with DVD player but dont know their service & am in a deli-ma about d2h or tata sky others i dont think compete.
so plz help.

tatasky has good signal and service but its very costly.... videocon d2h is cheap.. i got d2h two days back... paid rs2990 for set top box n 9 months of diamond pack.. service is quite good... they came within a day for instillation... go for d2h..

But i have already gone ahead and purchased the v d2h - DVD, the dealer delivered it to me in lees than 2hrs& in the 3rd hr i received an sms from vediocon d2h conforming my order & delivery ,my acc-user acc number the time and date of the installation,but the installation wil take time as they come from the company ....after 2 days......................
will keep u guys posted abt the service after all the work is done

am plannig to take new d2h connection and am planning to take 1 year diamond pack for 2900. RS

my doubts are

1:this 2900 rs including installation and harware charges right..?

2:is there any chances that because of pay channel price hikes , some channel may drop out from the list..? [eg: during fifa wc espn and star sports planning to increase their charges ]

1: rs2900 includes installation n set top box with 9 months of diamond pack..

2: no... for 9 months u will get all the channels in that r in the diamond pack...

it is only for 9 months but intheir site they are offering for 12 months right..?

its the 12 months channel package.. u dont get set to box in that...
u hav to take set top box first...

after 9 months u can recharge for rs 2900 and u will get one year of diamond pack..

i herad that during the bad weather situations clarity in DTH will be poor is it true..?

All DTH's suffer from rain outage and sun outage.

Rain outage occurs during heavy storms accompanied by thunder and lightening. Sun outage occurs once in while when solar flares and extreme radiations affect the communications satellite.

But these effects do not last very long unless the weather is really bad for extended periods of time.

i dont known dude.. its summer now... should see wat will happend during cloudy days..
