Microsoft announces the video download lineup for Xbox 360 Software giant Microsoft is celebrating the anniversary of their Xbox 360 gaming console with the announcement of new Xbox Live offerings.
The company would now be offering full selection of TV and movie rental titles. These would be available for both rental and sale to the consumers who owns an Xbox 360 console and subscribe to Xbox Live service.
Microsoft claims that this launch would make Xbox 360 the first console in history to provide high-definition TV shows and movies directly to gamers in their living rooms.
Consumers would have a huge variety of content offered through this service. it includes TV series like entire seasons of CSI series, Star Trek, Chappelle’s Show, Drawn Together, South Park, Punk’d, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Sealab 2021, Space Ghost, and Wonder Showzen. These are available for around USD 2 for standard definition episode and USD 3 for high definition version.
And there are movies on offer too. These movies use the Xbox Live’s new digital rights features. These new downloads can also be controlled by the Xbox 360’s Family Settings feature. Parents can control the amount of content available to the console.
Overall, this can be the service on the Xbox, which can somehow help Microsoft challenge the domination of Apple in the market as they too are planning to launch a device currently called Apple iTV enabling consumers to watch downloaded digital content on their television sets. |
