LAS VEGAS, NV (December 20, 2006) – Vigor Gaming Computer, a developer of custom gaming rigs and high end peripherals, will debut its Vigor Force Recon QX4 system, a top-end computer system based on AMD’s Quad FX4 dual socket CPU platform at CES 2007 here.

The Vigor Force Recon QX4 will be Vigor Gaming’s flagship system for “megatasking” enthusiasts, which allows users to run multiple, demanding applications and multi-threaded games. It will be shown with AMD at CES 2007; Booth: Central Plaza CP23, South 3 30368.

The Vigor Force Recon QX4 is powered by a pair of the AMD Athlon™ 64 FX-74 series dual-core processors, the newest addition to the award-winning AMD Athlon 64 FX processor family. AMD’s Quad FX Platform with Dual Socket Direct Connect (DSDC) Architecture is the first dual-socket, multi-core desktop PC platform designed to take advantage of the latest enhancements in Windows® Vista™ Ultimate. Systems based on this new CPU have been designed to meet the needs of enthusiasts who run multiple applications and multi-threaded games. The Force Recon QX4 is also a desired rig for post production work, audio/video editing and content creation, streaming high-definition content, and running multi-layered business applications.

With the introduction of AMD’s DSDC architecture, Vigor customers can count on a scalable platform since the AMD Quad FX platform is designed for a seamless upgrade path to a total of eight processing cores as well as next-generation platform innovations such as high-performance, low-latency unbuffered DDR2 memory, and Non-Uniform Memory Access (NUMA) support with compatible operating systems.

The AMD Quad FX Platform also includes the ability to host four PCI-E graphics cards, up to eight displays, 12 SATA drives, and four Gigabit Ethernet connections.

The Vigor Force Recon QX4 base model comes standard with AMD Athlon 64 X2 FX-74 Dual Processors at 3.0GHz, 2000MHz FSB, 1MB X 2 cache. The CPUs are mounted to an Asus L1N64-SLI WS motherboard with NVIDIA, nForce 680a SLI X 16 X 4 w/2000MHz FSB chipset. The nForce® 680a media and communications processor was designed by NVIDIA to be a companion solution to the AMD Quad FX for megatasking enthusiasts. The system is also built with NVIDIA’s GeForce 8800 GTX 768MB DDR3 video card with DVI and TV Out.
Standard memory and storage includes 2GBs of Corsair DDR2 1066MHz memory (4 X 512MB); a pair of 250GB SATA II 7200 RPM hard drives with RAID Level 0 striping; an internal 16X Dual Layer DVD+/- RW + 24X CDRW rewritable optical drive with bundled DVD/CDRW software; and 1.44MB 3.5″ floppy drive.

The Vigor Force Recon QX4 includes a Gigabit (10/100/1000Mbps) PCI Network Card. I/O PORTS for adding peripherals include 1 Parallel, 1 Game/Midi, 1 IEEE 1394 Firewire and 10 USB ports.

The components are encased in a Thermaltake Armor VA8004BWS AMD Quad 4X4 chassis and Vigor’s black side window panel enclosure with dual channel air guide designed specifically for the AMD Quad FX 4X4. The system is cooled by

Vigor’s Tornado Air Vent with triple 120MM case fan, and powered by Tagan TG1100-U95 TurboJet NVIDIA-SLI certified 1100 watt power supply.

All units are loaded with Microsoft Windows XP Professional Edition SP2 with free Vista Business upgrade. The Vigor Force Recon QX4 is backed by a three year limited parts and labor warranty.
