NFS 3 Hot pursuit is the best among the older generation, and underground and carbon are the best in the heavy gaming generation....

I specially like the background music track Romulus 3 in NFS 3... it takes me away to a happier time (when i was in school) whenever i listen to it..

This is what I feel Carbon lacks in - there aren't enough good pursuits in the career mode. Although a couple of them in the Challenge Series are really fun.

I have yet to try out Prostreet. Hope I didn't bore you all with my rambling...but it is the topic of one of my favorite games' series of all time!

Did you really try maxing out both the game 's graphics ......If so what graphic card did you use ?...

Motion blur effect and particle effect are very well present in Most wanted ...

I have played Most Wanted 3 times to completion and Carbon Once to completion .... I can assure you that Carbon has lower graphics .... Motion blur was introduced to NFS series in UG2 itself ......

If you had played MW in High graphic settings you would have known that ..

-->It rains in MW and Droplets hit the camera ....
-->Before it rains the Sky gets overcast in MW
-->If you drive eastwards(sun rises in the east d'uh) you ll will experience sun glare ... some times thru the leaves of trees !
--> There was a Morning /evening cycle in MW [no night obviously]......

you experience all these only if you have suitable hardware(high end graphic card) to support it .

None of these were present in Carbon

Will try to post some screenshots of both .....

Well till then , enjoy my Prostreet screenshots ..... Its a street racer's nightmare .... But A car modder 's heaven ...... Damn good visuals

I would say the best has to be nfs u1 ,u2 and mw .From carbon onwards the nfs series has not been up to the mark .May be their latest installment nfs undercover might break this mark which was setup by the previous nfs series

I have played NFS 1 special edition(enjoyed to max on Windows 95, worked only once and crashed after few days couldnt get it to work after many attempts).

I have also played NFS 2(also enjoyed), 3 (hot pursuit), 6 (hot pursuit 2), underground 2, most wanted.

I finished prostreet on my psp.

I'd go with Most Wanted. It introduced new game modes and Police pursuit. It also had nice graphics and breakable stuff all around. Some Sound tracks were nice too like Styles of Beyond - Nine Thou.

i played all the NFS games upto Most wanted ... to be honest i liked underground 2 a lot ...

and the classic nfs3 and nfs6(hot pursuit2) were also good

Loved Carbon and Most Wanted out of the lot....

The latest one is good as far as graphics are concerned but gameplay is pathetic...better to play Most Wanted or Carbon with maxxed out settings and a great HD Video Card

Something like a HD 4870 X2

or GTX295 with 42" HD LCD TV....

that would be heaven....

Those things are now a thing for consoles. Split screens are no longer done with PC games. I remember I used to play NFS Hot pursuit with my cousin.

the actions of the cars specially after jumping is all the more unnatural..

by the way there is a new installer out for the game for vista and xp, it enables z buffering in the game.

dont know why ... but i didnt like most wanted much ... IMO nfs underground 1 & 2 were really good ..
