yes, all PS II games can be played on PSIII but if you are going to buy PSIII then i dont think that it is a good option.

why not?@register
ps3 is a way ahead in technology,speed,design,engineering,graphics etc. ,

in my opinion if you have the dough then go buy the ps3 it is worth buying and it is backward compatible means you can play ps2 & ps1 games on ps3 hassle free!!

I think he is saying this because right now PSIII is way ore expensive then other gaming consoles which is why i also dont think that it is a good option to go for right now.

Rather than buying ps2 or ps3, i would suggest you to go for nintendo wii, which is what is revolutionizing the gaming industry silently these days. The games and graphics and performance are far better in wii than ps or xbox.

Actually PS3 is a good value for money because it is capable of playing blu-ray discs also. That alone justifies its cost.

Wii is better for interactiveness (and it blows the competition away in this respect) but its graphics and performance is not any better than Xbox 360 or PS3 (all three are almost the same in this metric).

If someone has PS2 games (like me), PS3 is the natural order of progression.
