Rep Power: 10 | Nintendo to bring vintage games to Nintendo Revolution Japanese video gaming giants Nintendo has said that they have gone into a partnership with their former rivals to bring vintage games to their upcoming gaming console Nintendo Revolution. This would further boost the number of downloadable classic video games for the company’s upcoming Revolution console. Nintendo’s primary advantage over their rivals Microsoft and Sony is their history of awesome games and they plan to fully leverage it with the Revolution gaming console. The deal signed with Sega and Hudson Soft covers more than 1,000 games developed for the now-defunct Sega Genesis console and the TurboGrafx 16 system. Nintendo’s planned “Virtual Console” download service would also have support for company’s own games like “Mario Bros” and “Zelda”. Nintendo president Satoru Iwata said in a statement on this deal: “No one else can match the environment we’re creating for expanding the game experience to everyone. Our path is not linear, but dynamic.” |
