Default Wii coming to India

Wii is coming to India and will be priced at just under Rs. 20K.

rediff.com: Gaming: Nintendo's Wii will be priced at Rs 19,900 in India

About Wii
The Wii (pronounced as the English pronoun "we") is a home video game console released by Nintendo. A distinguishing feature of the console is its wireless controller, the Wii Remote, which can be used as a handheld pointing device and detect movement in three dimensions. Another is WiiConnect24, which enables it to receive messages and updates over the Internet while in standby mode.

The Wii competes with other seventh-generation consoles in the market, primarily Microsoft's Xbox 360 and Sony's PlayStation 3. Since its release, the Wii has consistently outsold both; with worldwide total sales approaching 30 million, the Wii's installed base is close to the combined total of the two systems. Nintendo states that its console targets a broader demographic than that of the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3. The Financial Times reported that as of September 12, 2007, the Wii is the sales leader of its generation, based on sales figures of nearly 30 million.

The Wii is Nintendo's fifth home console, the direct successor to the Nintendo GameCube, and able to play all official GameCube games.

ive heard alot about this from friends who live abroad, and they says its really good, i think something that beats PS and Xbox.
But from what i know Nintendo hasn't always been as popular, it may be this times it outsmarts PS and Xbox.

Oh yes. It does. Xbox 360 and PS3 pale in front of the Wii. I was at Electronic Arts and have experienced the Wii in person. Played "Tiger Woods - PGA 2007" - man, just blew me away.

Yeah Wii is good.....

Nintendo has taken a completely different path this time, foraying into the virtual reality sector....
This is one console thats worth buying and irreplaceable by a pc...

Its being already used to train Surgeons Abroad!

Its not overly popular 'cause mainstream games are not available for the Wii... But what the hell? this wasn't made for them...

For Buyers :Pls make sure you buy a wrist strap along with your Wii console ...otherwise your remote will end up being embedded in your tv screen ..lol

And can anybody post approx price for Indian version ..?
