Angry How to stop Vodafone 2gb GPRS eating up my talktime balance on expiry?

I have pre paid connection + 95/- data recharge 2gb per 30 days

When 30 days complete there is no notice to the user it simply start charging from my talk time without telling me & there is no control which I have.

How to stop Vodafone 2gb GPRS from eating up my talktime balance on expiry?
The data connection should stop rather than charging exorbitant price something like 10p/10kb which I ended up loosing 345/ in 24 hrs.

In last 2months or so I have lost over Rs 700/- due to this.

    yes buddy

Even i am facing same issue, it eat up my main balance ( i had 70 rs ) and it went to minus balance of rs -168

when i want to know vodafone usage, i just sms i.e. MB to 144 and i get this message.

Expiry is not mentioned in this message and it doesn't show how much data left, it shows only how much MB u have used on requested data and time.

As per my knowledge Gprs is pre-activated on every prepaid sim so we cannot stop data connection.

The only thing which i do is 2 call customer care and know when my 98 rs pack is expiring

Oh you got that sms I didn't even get that sms, or may be it went to my spam sms folder. It should ideally stop the data like it stops the outgoing call when talktime balance finish. Seems they are milking the users by charging this way.

I like the fact that the data remain connected but then it should tell that your data recharge is over do you want to use ur talktime balance? I should have the choice Y/N

SMS codes for checking DATA usage change from circle 2 circle. MB to 144 may work not in your circle.

yes you are right, i requested them to mention "expiry date" in DATA MSG but they haven't included yet.

actually nothing could be done to avoid this situation...
the normal gprs tariffs are so high that one will be made nude if he is not aware of the recharge date or that his consumption is complete.

only on tata docomo and aircel they tell that your plan is finishing activate now.
Site from home gaya bhad mein... AIrtel se bolo FUP band kare.. BSNl se bolo 3G signal do!!!!>: (

Do we get sms from AIRCEL that gprs pack has expired ? I used 98 pack but i didn't get any sms or flash msg that it's expiring.
But i can know DATA expiry by dialing *126*4# in aircel. ( shows available bal and expiry)

I use simplest method to save myself from the charges on expiry of data pack on my Airtel prepaid.

When i get a recharge of 98 it shows a expiry date by dialing *123*10# i Make a reminder in my phone for a day before expiry and expiry date and write down a notification and reminder pops up, saving me from these charges from last so many months. Its the simplest way, but will save you lot of money. In a day full of usage you might lose 100 Rs to GPRS without a pack.
