Thread: VOIP Help needed

Hi to all members,

My name is rishika , I am using Airtel ISP , and I am very new to VOIP , i want to know following things wrt VOIP,

1. I am using Airtel ISP so Airtel ISP is blocking VOIP or not ,and if its blocking then which are indian voip providers airtel is not blocking.

2.Whar are those iNdian ISPs who are not blocking VOIPs.

3.What are the websites of INdian VOIP providers whom airtel is not blocking.

4.Also i have many other doubts , please any member can spare his precious time for me and solve my some of doubts, i will be heartly thankful to that member.Please send me a private message, you are most welcome.

I dont think airtel is blocking any voip services as it is legal in India .

Try downloading skype and do a test call to see if it works.

You do not need an India voip service just coz you live in India... I have been using skype and voip stunt for a long time now and never had any issues...

Which destination do you want to call?

please excuse my silly questions coz m noob in voip,
mainly i want to call in US also in india too but i want to call thru voip service with the voip software thru my pc but i just want to clear that is airtel is blocking voip coz we only came to know about purchasing account that an isp is blocking voip or not...i m using airtel M.P. 2mbps connection,also can we purchase voip account from w w w.t e liax. com n can use it with airtel , means can i use airtel isp for foreign voip service providers.

Airtel broadband does block ports for voip service. By default it's blocked.You will have to inform them for them to have em unblocked. Yes, You can use international voip services with any broadband connection. All you need is an upload and download speed of 90 kbps. All voip providers give a preconfigured voip adapter. All you have to do is connect a ethernet cable from the ethernet port of your voip adapter to the modem and RJ-11 cable to your phone. Im using
Vonage(US)with Airtel at my office and Bramatel (Canada) at home.. Cheers!!
