Thread: MagicJack on BSNL

Can somebody tell me how to make the MagicJack work on BSNL broadband in Kerala. Anybody has tried this before ? Any tips will be highly appreciated.

For :Vonage computer NOT needed except for initial setup/checking

Once you have a BB Internet connection, you can use it to make overseas telephone calls.
( usually your relative/friend pays a monthly charge in U.S)
You will get an U.S telephone number here in India.

I already have a MagicJack and connected to the computer. We have BSNL broadband connection, however it does not work.

I too have both majic jack and vonage units. In srirangam Tamilnadu, majic jack is not working. It was bought in US and sent to me. It is within one year time since bought. My vonage phone was working well, but suddenly it is not working. Can you help me out Mr essbebe.

Just tried my Magicjack over my BSNL broadband. Works fine. Just plugged it into the USB, it downloaded the software and voila.

My vonage phone was working well,

do you get an audio message when the phone is lifted ?
Does the unit work if desktop is connected to it ?
The annual/or monthly charges are being paid regularly in U.S ?
As the Telphone number is LOCKED, cannot be used by any other



Ensure you connect in Always On PPPoE mode.
( userId/PW entered/stored in WAN page of modem )
enable DHCP.
Check Internet is working.
Then connect RJ45 to Vonage unit.
If LCD display is available check the error messages.

My MagicJack works fine on BSNL in Kerala. You may want to uninstall the magicjack and then plug it in again so it will re-install the software.
