Thread: SIP provider selection

Hi, I am a newbie to VOIP world. I wanted to know what are the things to consider while selecting SIP providers.

Do I need to select a provider nearest to our location in order to have less delay time. or is it okay If I select any good SIP provider around the world?


Please suggest me recommended considerations for selecting SIP providers.

usually to U.S. and Canada calls are free either way.
I am using Vonage VOIP in India with a U.S number , and never worried about "SIP" etc.
Get the module connect it !Almost automatic Voip telephone connection through Internet.

I have Cisco router which has SIP trunking features and I want to use that feaure to make receive calls using IP phone
any suggestions ?

How you connect the Iphone to Internet?
Cable or wifi via laptop/ desktop?

Subject new to me, but will try to give some help.
I feel a VOIP service in WIFI mode may not be posssible. ( May not be correct )
You can connect an Analog Telephone or a cordless Telephone Base to the VOIP module. But how Iphone can be connected , I don't know.
