    Default VOIP calls to Austrailia

I want to make calls to Australia and want to use VOIP services but I do not know which VOIP service to use. I want voice clarity as well as the call cost to be low. Skype is an option but I am thinking of some other service other than this. Please provide details of the VOIP service including call charges.

I use skype because of the voice quality. The compression that skype uses makes it the best in the industry. Calls to landlines in Australia are about 1cent per min but calling mobile phones will cost as much as 18 cents per min.

The best way in my opinion is to have skype on both ends

Skype does have the best call quality and other than this it would be Tango. Regarding cost I would suggest that both users use the same VOIP service for calling which means there would be no charges for the call, apart from the data charges.

You can also use TeamSpeak its voice quality is good but its basically for gaming chat purpose.
On TS u can talk to many people at once.

Skype is by far the best in business .

First time I heard of TeamSpeak. Does the service allow you to top up the account with money?

Nah its somewhat free you only need to pay for a server to create a chatting room money depend on the no. Of slots you want to have like 10 people slot will allow max. 10 people to enter that room and talk..
    You connect via IP address

    Or
You can easily connect to any channle ip which is all time free or empty and talk there it will be free of cost.

    1. LINE
    2. Viber
    3. VSee
    4. Skype

VSee works with minimum bandwidth and Skype requires maximum bandwidth

Viber is a good option but it is not good unless you have a good fast net connection. You can also find out whether your service provider has any offers to call Australia.

LINE is the rage in Japan. VSee is mainly used in Africa where bandwidth is limited.

@kartik, as I already indicated, in my experience Skype needs maximum bandwidth and VSee needs minimum, with LINE & Viber somewhere in between. With normal 3G connections, VSee and Viber works better than Skype. But if you have a EVDO Rev.B or a 4G or high speed broadband, Skype may work better.oice only or Video calls
LINE and Viber gives the option of Voice only and Video call both. VSee is Video call only, but has option for multi-user conference call.
For voice only, Viber is slightly better than LINE in limited bandwidth. Skype comes third.

Like mentioned in another post that WhatsApp may be launching its voice services, it maybe that WhatsApp will be a good choice for voice calls, seeing that it is the best for messaging.

I downloaded it too but I am only able to do a text chat or a video chat. No option to make just a voice call?

Skype and Viber are both good, but Skype slightly beats Viber, I find that there is a lot of disturbance in the call quality when using Viber.
