Skype is a voip service which is very good and it is one of the best voip providers. Skype gives you excellent voice quality and good rates to make international calls, although calling UK mobiles can be quite expensive!!

If you are looking for computer to Phone calling skype is OK... But you need to buy a sky adapter if u want to dial directly from a normal phone. More over its only one way calling. If you want an incomming DID number you have to cough up some extra bucks... making it more expensive....

There are lots of cheap VOIP companies... who offer competative rates compared to Skype.

If you know of any cheaper companies, do let me know

Yahoo Voice is much cheaper than Skype. Quality of voice is a shade lower than Skype. Visit the Yahoo site for rates and other details. Typical call rates are 8c per minute to most countries. You can get a Yahoo Voice DID (direct inward dialing) number for something like $3.50 per month.

I taught that skype charged only 2c for a call to the US
If Yahoo is charging 8c that is really high when compared to skype

I was talking about calls between India and other countries. Yahoo charges 1c per min for calls within US and (maybe) 2c for calls between US and Europe.

I believe that Skype charges close to 15c per min for call between India and US/Europe but I may be wrong.

I am using skype to make call from India to US and they charge 2c

I used yahoo about 10 mins ago and I have been using skype for some time now and I would say skype voice quality is a lot better then Yahoo.

Skype charges 2 cents per min for calls to North America and you can also get a virtual number at a little extra cost which does come handy if you have a business serving US clients or even relatives who call you often.

I believe that Skype service is much reliable and the quality is also very good.

I have not tried any other provider, but no interested as Skype is more than good for me.

i have tried using skype several times and icall too but m unable to get voice on both icall is unable to dial any number and if it dials then gives an error which says not connected...

i think my ISP (Sify) is blocking VoIP traffic thats why it is happening like this and sify is offering me a sify package to make ISD calls at cheaper rates... which i really dont want to use...

do you have any resolution for this or any suggestions...

Although some may think that Skype is slight expensive, but the voice quality is excellent, and thats an important factor too.

Skype indeed provides a quality VOIP services, but its a bit costlier.But VOIP buster is not expensive and they are handy in most situations.

skype now has unlimited calling to different countries, I use the one for US and Canada it works great and I get a free incoming no. as well

I have a WM PPC and i've been using Fring alongwith its SIP service providers.... Ne one who wants or has similar usage check Fring.com

You have always been able to make unlimited amount of calls anywhere in the world!
