Thread: How to secure my Blog?

Hello,
I have a small silly wordpress driven blog. currently install is at defaults options. which i think is bad from safety point of view.

I want to make it secure and safe
Please tell what step should be followed to do so?

one thing is know is denial of Directory listing using .htaccess method.
when i inserted this line in .htaccess file:

Options -Indexes

I started getting 500 - Internal Server Error msg on whole site.
so i has to remove it. didn't know what went wrong!


Please tell what step should be followed to make my blog safe?

keep your blog updated with the latest version of wordpress release. That should close any loopholes and remaining security depends on how strong your host is against hackers.
