I like Drupal and joomla for CMS and phpbb3 is best idea for forum creation.

other geeklog and typo3 are fine but don't have so good options.
Siteframe is something which is just like a template only so don't like it as you can not get that feel in siteframe

Are you looking only at open source? Amongst the paid versions, Interwoven is the best but is very pricey.

ya dreamweaver is not a CMS, it is site builder
DreamWeare is made to create sites and you can create a site with it but for content management you need a content management system.

Joomla is little Vulnerable to hacker.

Many of its modules are openly declared DANGEROUS (lolz) in their community.

But they already made a list of Modules and trying to fix them

Before anyone says, that "so and so" is the best, please qualify the statements with some solid reasons.

    I like Joomla Because:
    1. Very easy to learn, More flexible to use and easily customizable.
    2. Wide range of fantastic templates.
    3. Good collection of modules which meet almost all requirement of a good dynamic website including payment gateway.
    4. Fantastic support from the Forum.

oomla is little Vulnerable to hacker.

Many of its modules are openly declared DANGEROUS (lolz) in their community.
It's true, but it can be covered through some basic disciplined security measures. Now Joomla security pluggins are available (unfortunately most of them are not free).

i think WordPress is a very good content management system. Thought is much simpler than joomla and drupal but it is quite efficient especially to someone who knows its true potential.

At present 3 open source CMS are worth to try...

    • Wordpress - for its out of box features, easy to learn...
    • Joomla - User friendly interface, huge community, large number of extensions...
    • Drupal - A developer's choice, provide high flexibility in website designing...

IMO all of them are good in their own ways... and contributing a lot to the website development community... maybe after 5 years down the line, we'll have a new and better CMS, taking good features from all the three... At that time we'll be obliged to all the three or more CMSes...

I'm not voting in the poll, as the preferences differ from person to person... Its not necessary that what is good for me, may suite others.... or vice-versa...

Very well said by itsmemad. IMO Wordpress is much simpler and easy to use CMS. But, if you have enough webmaster skills, Joomla can work wonders for you. With Joomla you would have better experience of content management. Whereas Wordpress has whole lot of plugins which are really useful. I am currently using Wordpress for my blogs and vBulletin for forums.

Wordpress is lightweight nodoubt but once the number of plugin increases it slows down the performance. Wordpress is good as far as blogging is concerned but it requires lots of work to turn it into a fully blown CMS. Even wordpress is a very good choice to build smaller websites. Wordpress is very easy to manage.

Joomla on the otherhand can be handy and it serves from a simple website to a fully blown CMS for various kinds of sites. It is even optimized for good traffic oriented websites.

It all depends on your need.
