I am using a domain from Yahoo (only domain). It has not given me any troubles.
you better opt for some other services out there on the net!
Munni badnaam hui, darling tere liye
Le zandu balm hui, darling tere liye
you are making site just for yourself then yahoo is easy to use but for professional websites yahoo is nothing more than crap.
Right. Only thing due to which it is famous is it WSIWYG ( what you see is what you get ) website builder. But there are more better options like Netfusion object ( free ed or 11) which don't offer web hosting.
Completely agree with smoothvibes. Your websites needs will be evey changing and the last thing you would want is to change your hosting when your website is doing well and getting traffic. yahoo is good for simple web sites but when your need increase you will not find the hosting worth the money as well as features.
Din't have much idea about Yahoo's web hosting service, but I've read somewhere that people have faced a lot of problems when switching to a different domain registrar. You can check out the following link of web hosting review website : www. hosting-review.com/
yahoo web hosting for small businesses is best but too costly
hostgator is best....
yahoo i think is pricey and future is not certain...
job takes the child away.
Yahoo web hosting is good for the all small businesses
but too costly![]()
Yahoo hosting is only good for static sites in my opinion. You cannot even host a wordpress blog on Yahoo hosting if you want to use the seo URL feature. Mod rewrite is disabled on Yahoo hosting so no url rewriting is possible.
There are ways to get around this hurdle but why get your hands dirty when there are cheaper and better options available.
Yahoo made a fool out of themselves by starting to sell domains and hosting. Yahoo had an offer going a few years back for new domain registrations and I think at the time they were charging $0.99 per year for new customers. I wont lie to you guys but I registered a lot of domains for 5 years back then for less then $5 each where as normal price was $9.99 per year for a top level tld. Problem with Yahoo domains is that the interface is just plain crap and it takes ages to load pages inside their yahoo small business portal. To make simple changes like dns you have go go through a number of clicks before you arrive at the screen which lets you change DNS.
For domains I would recomend Name - Domain Name Search and Registration from Name.com and for hosting I would recommend Rackspace who have data centres in USA, UK Hongkong and may be more but there are the ones I know about. Rackspace's site hosting account is a good option if you are just starting.
I was still able to catch those years of Yahoo when they do sell domains and all for a small price. None of us who tried it never really liked their services. Like what you said, its just plain crap.
Good thing its not that expensive at that time yet. Until now, I don't really see Yahoo's hosting to be any better. Hostgator is the best deal for me so far.
good for small hosting company.
professional support.
but high cost.
Completely agree !
