Default differences between .com .net and .org

Hello everyone! I'm just starting to experiment with web-hosting since many says its a good business. But when I'm about to create my domain name, I suddenly thought of their extensions. What they mean and what are they're differences? Does anyone here knows?

Hmm... As far as I can recall... Its this.

the extension .com is being used for the extension of your domain name when the site you are going to make is a site that will be used for business.

Now, the extension .net is being used to identify that the site is about technology. Think about those sites with regards to cellphones for example.

And last but not the least... The extension .org... Hmm... I forgot about this one, sorry. Ha ha ha!

    Default Domain extensions

.com represents the word "commercial," and is the most widely used extension in the world. Most businesses prefer a .com domain name because it is a highly recognized symbol for having a business presence on the Internet.

.net represents the word "network," and is most commonly used by Internet service providers, Web-hosting companies or other businesses that are directly involved in the infrastructure of the Internet. Additionally, some businesses choose domain names with a .net extension for their intranet Websites.

.org represents the word "organization," and is primarily used by non-profits groups or trade associations.

.biz is used for small business Web sites.

.info is for credible resource Web sites and signifies a "resource" web site. It's the most popular extension beyond .com, .net and .org.

Thanks deepmohan for sharing the info. I notice that many website didn't follow the formula anymore. Most website go for .com extension, including the websites which contain only informative content and sell nothing. Also, many web hosting provider also use .com.

LOL! .org is for non-profits sites such as charity site. These are the sites that are usually giving information for free, like a community work or those sort.

I never came across a site that has the file extension of .biz. For all I know as long as the site is for business they just use .com whether or not its a small business or big.

Thank you all for this guys. Okay that does it then. I don't think no one really pays attention to the site extensions these day, don't you think? Whether its for business or not, I usually see the extension .com.

    Talking

.com, .net, org, and some others is created by versign(.com, .net, .org tld owner)

.com - very popular tld - if you want to sell your domain then this is most important TLD for you

    .net 2nd position

    .org 3rd position

but no any difference in .com, .net, .org(for small business, blogs, etc)

Yes , agree with you kunnusingh !
Actually there is no difference in .com, .net, .org
Its depend on the choice as well as availability of the domain names.
